You'll play a key role in delivering complex subsea and offshore projects, driving cost control, scheduling, and financial performance while working closely with Project Managers, Operations, and Finance.

Project Controller - Subsea / Offshore Projects

We're currently looking for an experienced Project Controller to join a high-performing team supporting complex subsea and offshore energy projects.

This is a critical role where you'll be at the heart of project delivery-driving cost control, scheduling, and financial performance while partnering closely with Project Managers, Operations, and Finance.


What You'll Be Doing

You'll play a key role across the full project lifecycle, including:


Cost & Budget Control

  • Develop and manage detailed project budgets aligned with contract scope
  • Track actual costs vs budget and forecast cost at completion (EAC/ETC)
  • Ensure accurate cost allocation across WBS structures
  • Support change management and cash flow forecasting


Revenue & Financial Management

  • Oversee revenue recognition (percentage-of-completion)
  • Coordinate client invoicing and billing accuracy
  • Support AR tracking and financial reconciliations
  • Provide margin analysis and identify risks/opportunities


Project Scheduling & Planning

  • Build and maintain schedules using MS Project and/or Primavera P6
  • Perform critical path analysis and identify schedule risks
  • Apply earned value management (EVM) principles (SPI, CPI, variance)
  • Support resource planning and vessel utilization forecasting


Reporting & KPIs

  • Deliver monthly project performance reports and dashboards
  • Track KPIs across cost, schedule, revenue, and productivity
  • Support month-end close, WIP reporting, and variance analysis
  • Present insights to internal leadership and stakeholders


Risk & Compliance

  • Identify financial risks and support mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and contract requirements
  • Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives


What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or similar
  • 5+ years' experience in project controls, cost control, or project accounting
  • Strong background in offshore energy, subsea, marine, or EPC projects
  • Proven experience managing multi-million-dollar project budgets


Technical Skills

  • Advanced Excel (pivot tables, data modelling, Power Query)
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, etc.)
  • Scheduling expertise using MS Project and/or Primavera P6
  • Knowledge of earned value management (EVM)
  • Power BI experience is a plus
