What We Seek...
Britten is seeking a full-time Project Buyer to join our Boxpop division. This role will support the project management team in overseeing all aspects of project execution, including materials, equipment, and scheduling, to ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to contribute to a collaborative team environment. Prior experience in Construction Project Management is preferred.
Job Summary and Job Functions
- Minimize risk and ensure compliance by implementing and maintaining established safety and quality standards
- Coordinate with material handlers and internal departments to ensure materials are available when needed through effective inventory planning, Kanban replenishment, vendor-managed inventory and strategic sourcing initiatives
- Collaborate with the Engineering Department to review architectural and engineering drawings, ensuring all specifications and regulations are met
- Partner closely with Sales, Operations, Materials Management, Accounting, and Project Management teams to support project success
- Lead cost-saving initiatives through competitive sourcing, alternative material selection, and optimizing transportation methods
- Assist Project Managers with the administration of project agreements and documentation
- Source and manage domestic and international vendors, maintaining communication regarding delivery schedules, quality standards and contract terms
- Manage domestic and international supplier relationships to ensure Britten maintains a sustainable competitive advantage through its supply chain
- Coordinate material procurement and vendor/subcontractor activities to ensure alignment with project schedules and budgets across multiple projects
- Provide regular updates to the Sr. Project Manager on project progress and recommend plan adjustments as needed
- Ensure thorough organization of project closeout documents, managing purchase orders, invoices, and related paperwork
- Assist in updating project status using company software
- Work closely with project management team to proactively monitor and identify any changes in project scope

Requirements
- Experience in purchasing and sourcing within fast-paced, project-driven environments
- Ability to navigate in a fast paced and time sensitive environment
- Strong vendor sourcing, pricing, and relationship management abilities
- Understanding materials, hardware, and fabrication workflows
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills
- Superior computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Salesforce
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while coordinating multiple activities and teams to ensure efficient collaboration and timely results
