The Office for Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) is a System-wide entity charged to support the Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) in embracing the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion as key drivers for excellence and innovation for unrivaled healthcare service delivery, medical and health education, and research. ODI staff serve as consultants and subject matter experts on best practices in diversity and inclusion whereby they advise on System-wide policies and practices and provide education on inclusive and anti-racist behaviors to promote equity for all. The Program Manager II reports to the ODI's Assistant Vice President and is responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of ODI's Administrative Pathway Programs, which include Administrative Internship Programs, Student Educational Sessions, Administrative Fellowship Program, and other offerings for underserved communities. These programs are designed to provide leadership and professional development, experiential, and educational opportunities in healthcare administration and corporate services to underrepresented minority (URM) students and young professionals who selfidentify as Black/African American, Hispanic/Latinx, Pacific Islander, and/or Native American, as well as people with disabilities and members of the LGBTQ+ community. The individual in this role will supervise at least one intern to aid with ongoing program development

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the operational aspects (recruitment, interview, onboarding, orientation, education, program evaluation) of the Administrative Internship Programs and the Administrative Fellowship Program.
  • Organize program informational calls and sessions for interested candidates; respond to candidate questions in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the application, interview, and selection processes of the internship and fellowship processes to ensure programs remain highly competitive and well-regarded; participate in job fairs and other recruitment events, as approved.
  • Collaborate with ODI external partners and internal MSHS departments to secure placements for summer and academic-year programs; work closely with Human Resources (HR) Talent Acquisition and Volunteer Services to onboard new interns and fellows.
  • Develop and conduct evaluations and compile programmatic data and reports for leadership and current/potential grant sponsors as well as for 2 purposes of data collection and reporting to MSHS leadership and national surveys.
  • Present evidence-based recommendations to enhance the current structure of pathway programs; implement approved program changes for future intern and fellow cohorts.
  • Identify new partnerships targeting underrepresented minorities in healthcare, especially with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Minority-serving Institutions (MSIs), and Hispanic-serving Institutions (HSIs)
  • Oversee professional development and exposure opportunities for individuals who participate or have graduated from the Administrative Fellowship Program.
  • Propose and implement enhancements to the program design, structure, and implementation.
  • Administer educational and panel sessions around career planning and readiness for students (high school through graduate level) and individuals in the early stages of their careers.
  • Develop and oversee the Administrative Internship Alumni Network to maintain connections with former internship participants and enhance the talent pool of underrepresented minorities
  • Prepare annual reports on all programs for presentation to hospital presidents and leadership, ODI colleagues, and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or greater preferred, or combination of applicable experience and education
  • 5 years of internship and/or work experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $79,720.00 - $119,580.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
