Production Worker

Job Description

The Production Operator works on a manufacturing line in a food production facility, learning and performing the full process from mixing ingredients to packaging finished products.

Responsibilities

• Work on a production line and learn the complete process, including mixing, middle processing steps (such as panning, portioning, baking, extracting, or grinding), and final packaging.
• Monitor automated machines throughout the production process and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Measure and weigh product into pre-made boxes with liners, ensuring accuracy and consistency in packing.
• Verify that all packaged boxes have the correct labels placed in the proper location, ensuring compliance with product and regulatory requirements.
• Measure out ingredients on pallets according to precise batch sheets and pour ingredients into blenders or conches, following written instructions and signing off on paperwork.
• Complete all required production paperwork accurately and on time, including batch records, quality checks, and production logs.
• Perform metal detector checks on the hour and document results to ensure product safety.
• Scan product in and out of the system to maintain accurate inventory and traceability.
• Follow new and existing processes and procedures, adapting to changes in production methods or product requirements.
• Operate pallet jacks and other basic material handling equipment to move ingredients and finished goods safely.
• Work at a fast pace while maintaining attention to detail and product quality standards.
• Lift up to 50 pounds regularly as part of daily production and material handling tasks.
• Adhere to all food safety, health, and safety guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment and hygiene requirements.
• Stand for extended periods while working on the production line and rotate through different tasks as needed.
• For floater roles, learn multiple lines and positions and move between lines on a day-to-day basis to provide coverage and support where needed.
• Collaborate with team members and leads to meet production goals and support continuous improvement in the facility.

Essential Skills

• At least 6 months of manufacturing experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to work at a fast pace while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Comfort with standing for long periods during 12-hour shifts.
• Ability to follow precise written instructions, batch sheets, and standard operating procedures.
• Willingness and drive to advance within the company and take on additional responsibilities.
• Ability to adhere to strict food safety, health, and safety guidelines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous food manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
• Comfort working as a floater across multiple lines and roles, if assigned.
• Openness to learning new processes and cross-training in different areas such as mixing or team lead responsibilities

6:30 am - 6:50 pm

6:30 pm - 6:50 am

Work Environment

• This role is based in a clean, well-lit food manufacturing facility that operates on rotating 12-hour shifts.
• The environment is fast-paced, with significant standing and movement required throughout the shift.
• The facility is climate controlled, but due to heat from machinery and ovens, temperatures can reach up to approximately 100 degrees, and the air can become dusty from the product being manufactured.
• Operators work with automated production lines, blenders or conches, metal detectors, packaging equipment, and pallet jacks.
• All team members must follow strict food safety and health guidelines and wear required attire, including hairnets, beard nets as applicable, steel-toed shoes, and lab coats.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shrewsbury, MO.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.50/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Shrewsbury,MO.
