POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations at Trillium Foods’ Brundidge, AL facility, producing liquid food products. This role drives production execution, fosters employee engagement, and ensures strong cross-functional coordination across Operations, Quality, and R&D.
The Supervisor is accountable for ensuring all production activities meet safety, quality, regulatory, and productivity standards, while supporting plant trials and continuous improvement initiatives. This position operates in a fast-paced environment and requires flexibility to support weekend or holiday operations based on business needs.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations & Production Leadership (50%)
- Lead daily manufacturing operations for liquid production lines, supervising 3–5 employees per shift
- Execute production plans to meet customer demand, quality standards, and operational targets
- Ensure line readiness, including sanitation verification, pre-flight checks, and labeling accuracy
- Troubleshoot operational challenges related to equipment, materials, and staffing to minimize downtime
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure smooth and efficient operations
Quality, Food Safety & Compliance (20%)
- Ensure compliance with GMPs, HACCP, sanitation, and food safety programs
- Enforce OSHA, FDA, USDA, SQF, and company quality and safety standards
- Review production and HACCP documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Maintain a safe, clean, and audit-ready work environment
Continuous Improvement (15%)
- Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize downtime
- Promote a “right-first-time” mindset and executional excellence on the production floor
- Support process improvements specific to liquid and recipe-based manufacturing
Team Development & Training (15%)
- Coach, train, and develop production employees to build capability and accountability
- Support onboarding and ongoing skill development of team members
- Partner with leadership on hiring, performance management, and disciplinary actions
R&D and Plant Trial Support
- Partner with Operations and R&D to execute plant trials and scale-up activities
- Ensure trials are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with production and quality standards
- Support line preparation, sanitation, and accurate documentation during trials
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations
- Prior experience leading or supervising manufacturing associates
- Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation requirements
Knowledge & Skills:
- Experience in liquid or thermal food processing preferred
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety programs
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Effective communication and hands-on leadership abilities
