Job Title: Production Planner | 75k/year | Mon-Fri On-site | 6 Month Contract-to-Hire

Job Description

As a Production Planner, you will manage supply and fulfillment planning within MRP systems to ensure that production work orders are accurately created, released, and supported with the right materials at the right time. You will create clear visibility into material positions, support prioritization and expediting of subassemblies, and help maintain accurate master data for production parts. Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage supply and fulfillment activities within MRP for production work orders.
  • Release production work orders to the Production team and issue kit requests to Inventory.
  • Create and maintain clear visibility of material positions using line of balance reports, material shortage reports, clear-to-build reports, and similar tools.
  • Support prioritization and expediting of subassemblies to meet integration timelines and production schedules.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of part master data within the MRP system for all production parts.
  • Analyze and understand material demand, including configuration accuracy and requirements for production builds.
  • Conduct clear-to-build reviews and identify, escalate, and help resolve material constraints that impact production.
  • Apply production planning fundamentals, including master data management, batch processing, and issue ticket disposition.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as Production, Inventory, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality to achieve company-wide goals.
  • Use advanced Excel tools and data analysis to track, report, and improve material and production performance.
  • Leverage ERP and MRP systems to monitor work order status, material availability, and production progress.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders regarding material status, risks, and priorities.
  • Perform other related duties as requested that align with the scope of the Production Planner role.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of professional experience and a Bachelor’s degree, or 6+ total years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven ability to conduct clear-to-build reviews and expedite materials through production.
  • Knowledge of production planning fundamentals, including master data management, batch processing, and issue ticket disposition.
  • Proficiency with MRP systems for planning, scheduling, and material management.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems for tracking work orders and inventory.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including vlookups and data analysis.
  • Strong skills in math and statistics for analyzing material and production data.
  • Self-starter mentality with a strong willingness to learn and put in the work.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment as a strong team player.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 6 months to 2 years of project-based experience in a related environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in aerospace, EV automotive, or other disruptive manufacturing industries.
  • Experience working in a rapid growth environment and adapting to evolving processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Experience working within AS9100 quality systems.
  • Familiarity with US export control requirements.
  • Experience using SQL for data extraction and analysis.
  • Experience with Python or R for data processing and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently in a dynamic environment.

Work Environment

You will work in a fast-paced, high-growth manufacturing environment that supports the development and production of advanced aerospace and related technologies. The role is highly collaborative, requiring close interaction with Production, Inventory, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams. You will use MRP and ERP systems daily, along with advanced Excel and other data tools such as SQL, and may interface with Python or R-based reporting. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middle River, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.05 - $43.27/hr.
