Production Operator | 18 HR

The General Laborer supports daily operations by performing a variety of physical and production-related tasks throughout the facility. This role involves loading and unloading shipments, moving materials with an overhead crane, and assisting with basic painting and cleaning. The position requires consistent, hands-on work in a fast-paced environment and offers the opportunity to contribute directly to a collaborative production team.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of general labor tasks throughout the facility to support daily operations.
• Load and unload shipments safely and efficiently.
• Pick and stage materials from inventory according to work orders and production needs.
• Perform painting and cleaning operations as needed to maintain equipment and work areas.
• Utilize an overhead crane to move material safely throughout the facility.
• Use hand tools and power tools to complete assigned tasks and basic mechanical work.
• Read and use a tape measure accurately when handling, cutting, or preparing materials.
• Work on your feet throughout the shift in a fast-paced production environment.
• Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to keep work flowing smoothly.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently.
• Ability to work on your feet in a fast-paced setting.
• Comfort using an overhead crane to move materials, or willingness to learn.
• Comfort using hand tools and power tools for basic mechanical and production tasks.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
• General labor, loading, unloading, and general production experience.
• Previous production or manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform a variety of physical tasks.
• Reliability, strong work ethic, and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• Experience in a construction, manufacturing, or industrial environment is a plus.
• Prior experience operating forklifts or other material-handling equipment is beneficial.
• Comfort working with basic mechanical tasks and tools.
• Strong attention to safety and quality in all tasks.
• Willingness to learn new skills and take on different tasks as needed.

Work Environment

The facility employs approximately 75 people and operates in a collaborative, team-focused environment where coworkers support each other to meet production goals. Work is hands-on and physically active, with frequent lifting, standing, and movement throughout the day in a fast-paced production setting. Employees regularly use tools and equipment such as hand tools, power tools, tape measures, forklifts, and overhead cranes to move and process materials. The atmosphere emphasizes safety, cooperation, and shared success, with a strong sense of camaraderie and involvement in meaningful local construction and fabrication projects.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wadsworth, OH.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
