Production Operations Manager

Lowtemp Industries
Arvada, CO

About Lowtemp Industries

Lowtemp Industries designs and manufactures premium cannabis extraction equipment from our facility in Arvada, Colorado. Our product lines — including the Osprey and Mini Osprey ice water hash systems, rosin presses, and the LCD (Lowtemp Concentrate Dispensers) — are sold to commercial extractors across North America and internationally. Engineering, fabrication, electrical assembly, firmware integration, quality control, and shipping all happen in-house at our Arvada facility.

We are a privately-held, profitable, growing manufacturer. Our customers run our equipment in some of the most demanding production environments in the industry, and our reputation depends on our ability to ship machines on time, configured correctly, with the right parts. The role described exists because that quality bar starts with the operational system that runs the back end — and we're investing in bringing the deep expertise to run it in-house.

About this role

We're hiring our first dedicated Cin7 Core operator. Today we run Cin7 Core for inventory, BOMs, production orders, purchasing, and integration with Shopify and QuickBooks Online. The system is partially configured but not fully owned — we work with an outside Cin7 consulting firm for the deepest configuration work, and we want to bring that expertise inside the company under a single accountable seat.

This role reports directly to the CEO and works alongside engineering, sales, and finance. The right person will spend their days configuring BOMs, running production orders, resolving sync errors, tuning reorder points, training internal users, and partnering with our engineering team as we release new and revised products through 2026 and beyond. This is a builder seat, not a manager seat. There are no direct reports today and none planned in the first year. If you want to manage people, this is not your role. If you want to deeply own a manufacturing system end to end and be the go-to expert in the company, work here.

What you'll own1.  Cin7 Core system ownership
  • Configure and maintain Production BOMs across all product lines, including operations, work centers, resources, and capacity.
  • Maintain Assembly BOMs for spares kits, accessory bundles, replacement parts, and consumable kits — and decide when a sub-assembly should be a Phantom BOM versus a stocked sub-component.
  • Configure Production Process Customization settings — stock transfer rules, PO replenishment automation, nested production order behavior, sale-to-production triggers, and finished goods putaway logic.
  • Maintain Reference Books: locations, bins, work centers, resources, factory calendar, account mapping, tax rules, additional units of measure, BOM versions.
  • Define and document the costing method strategy across product lines and apply it correctly across BOMs, knowing which costing methods are required for auto-assembly and which aren't supported.
2.  Production planning & execution
  • Generate, plan, release, and complete production orders against demand from sales authorizations and forecast.
  • Run MRP and Smart Reorder across all stocked components; tune reorder parameters per supplier, per location, and per SKU.
  • Coordinate directly with engineering when BOMs change due to design revisions, ECOs, supplier substitutions, or new product introductions.
  • Capture and analyze production cost variance — labor, machine time, components, wastage — using Production Cost Analysis and Production Cost Breakdown reports.
3.  Integration health
  • Own the Shopify ↔ Cin7 ↔ QuickBooks Online sync chain end-to-end. Monitor stock-level updates, buffer inventory, location mapping, sale download cadence, and tax/account mapping.
  • Resolve sync errors before they reach month-end close. Coordinate with finance during the transition period and become the in-house first responder afterward.
  • Own the data flow from Bill.com → QuickBooks Online as it relates to inventory cost capture and ensure components purchased through Bill.com land correctly in cost of goods sold.
4.  Inventory accuracy & control
  • Establish and run a cycle count cadence appropriate for our SKU velocity and value distribution.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between Available, On Hand, and Allocated quantities at SKU and location level.
  • Maintain stock accuracy at our shop floor and connected warehouse locations through stocktakes, receipt audits, and movement reconciliation.
5.  Reporting & decision support
  • Build and maintain saved-layout reports for the CEO and finance: Production Cost Analysis, BOM Component Details, Inventory Movement Summary, Production BOM Components & Resources, and ad-hoc reports as questions come up.

6.  Cross-functional partnership
  • Partner with engineering on every new product release and revision — translate the engineering BOM into the Cin7 Production BOM, including operation sequences, work centers, and resource time.
  • Partner with sales on demand visibility, lead time communication, and inventory positioning across customers.
  • Partner with finance on month-end close, COGS accuracy, inventory valuation, and the QBO journal entry chain.
  • Train internal users on Cin7 workflows. Document SOPs for purchasing, receiving, picking, assembly, and shipping.
Required qualifications

This role demands proven, hands-on experience operating Cin7 — not familiarity, not exposure, not "I've seen it." We are not hiring for potential to learn the system; we are hiring for someone who has done this exact work at a manufacturer recently.

  • 2+ years hands-on operating Cin7 Core (or DEAR Systems prior to the 2023 rebrand) at a manufacturer or product-based business between roughly 20 and 200 employees in scale.
  • You have personally built and maintained Production BOMs and/or Assembly BOMs — not just consumed them. Be prepared to walk us through specific BOM structures you've designed, including the tradeoffs you considered.
  • You have configured the Cin7 ↔ Shopify and Cin7 ↔ QuickBooks Online integrations yourself. You have resolved sync errors, set buffer inventory, and worked through location mapping. You can explain what gets pushed to Shopify and what doesn't.
  • Demonstrable understanding of Cin7's costing methods, including which methods are required for auto-assembly to function and what the "Average Cost" field on the product screen actually represents inside Cin7.
  • Manufacturing background. You're comfortable on a shop floor. You understand BOM structure, work order routing, and the difference between a finished good, an intermediate, and a raw material.
  • Strong Excel and CSV skills. You're comfortable with Cin7's import and export workflows for BOMs, inventory lists, and product master data.
  • Comfortable in the production environment — willing and able to spend meaningful time on the shop floor working alongside the production and assembly team, not exclusively at a desk.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred qualifications
  • Cin7 Academy Administrator certification or equivalent demonstrated mastery of the Administrator learning path.
  • Direct experience configuring Cin7's Advanced Manufacturing module: Work Centers, Resources, Capacity Planner, MES.
  • Industrial equipment, stainless steel fabrication, embedded electronics, or UL 508A control panel manufacturing exposure.
  • Cannabis ancillary, regulated B2B, food/beverage, or other compliance-heavy manufacturing experience.
  • Working knowledge of multi-level assemblies, Phantom BOMs, nested production orders, and Make-to-Order BOMs, including the failure modes of each.
  • MRP and Smart Reorder configuration experience in a real production setting.
Compensation and benefits

THE OFFER

Base salary: $105,000 – $130,000 annually, depending on demonstrated Cin7 depth and manufacturing experience.

Annual bonus: 10–15% of base salary at target, tied to operational milestones agreed with the CEO.

Sign-on bonus: Negotiable for relocating candidates.

Health insurance: Medical, dental, and vision. Lowtemp covers 80% of the employee premium for medical, and 100% of dental and vision. Dependants are included at the same rate.

Paid time off: 15 days of paid time off plus federal holidays.

Working environment
  • On-site in Arvada, Colorado is preferred. We are a working manufacturing facility, and the most effective person in this role will spend meaningful time on the shop floor with the production team.
  • Remote candidates within similar time zones (+/- 3 hours of Mountain Time) will be considered for the right experience profile, with the expectation of regular travel to the Arvada facility.
  • Direct reporting line to the CEO. Lowtemp is a small enough company that real ownership is possible from day one and visible from day one.
  • This is not a heads-down desk job. The work is collaborative across engineering, sales, and finance, and requires a person who can switch contexts and translate between technical, operational, and financial audiences.
