Job Title: Production AssociateJob DescriptionThis role supports a high-volume, climate-controlled manufacturing facility that produces small metal parts for automotive vehicles using large stamping presses, small machine welding stations, and production lines. As a Production Associate, you will perform a variety of tasks across production, material handling, quality, and equipment support, ensuring products meet strict quality standards while maintaining a strong focus on safety, reliability, and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Operate on production lines to support the manufacturing of small metal parts for automotive vehicles.
- Push carts of product and move materials throughout the facility safely and efficiently.
- Perform lifting and general labor tasks, including repeatedly lifting items of 30+ pounds and occasionally over shoulder height.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure parts and products meet quality and safety standards.
- Demonstrate a high level of initiative by taking ownership of tasks and supporting team needs as they arise.
- Maintain strong and consistent attendance and arrive on time for all scheduled shifts.
- Embrace a “no job is too small” mindset and support various duties as needed across production and warehouse areas.
- Operate cranes or assist with crane operation to move and organize large metal coils, working alone or with another team member as required.
- Support quality checks on fuel lids and other components, ensuring all parts meet specified standards.
- Perform general production tasks related to fuel lid manufacturing and other product lines.
- Assist line leads by supporting pallet building and product organization based on customer orders when requested.
- Support productivity and quality by following established processes and communicating any issues promptly.
- Perform machine setup and adjust settings on machinery for press and weld operations when assigned.
- Apply mechanical aptitude to understand basic troubleshooting steps on production equipment when trained.
- Conduct visual quality checks on small metal parts and, when necessary, identify items that require further dimensional inspection.
- Read diagrams and follow written work instructions to verify that team members follow proper processes and procedures.
- Audit press, weld, conveyance, and quality processes and report findings to the quality team using an iPad or similar device.
- Walk the production floor regularly to observe processes and provide feedback to team members when necessary.
- Use lathes and grinding machines to sharpen tips for the welding department when assigned to tip shaver duties.
- Handle materials in warehouse, shipping, receiving, and production areas, including assembly, order selecting, inventory tasks, picking, packing, loading, and general labor.
- Operate pallet jacks and perform material handling activities to support smooth workflow and timely order fulfillment.
- Interpret and understand all work instructions and complete all necessary paperwork and documentation accurately and legibly.
- Remain open to performing additional job duties, including machine operating and cross-training in different areas, as requested.
Essential Skills- Ability to stand on your feet for 8–10 hours per day in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to lift 30+ pounds repeatedly and lift items over your head when required.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment such as production or warehouse operations.

- Comfort providing and receiving feedback in a team setting, especially when supporting quality processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Prior experience in a production facility, warehouse, shipping, or receiving environment.
- Experience with assembly, order selecting, inventory, picking, packing, loading, and general labor tasks.
- Experience operating pallet jacks or similar material handling equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort adjusting machine settings or performing basic troubleshooting on press and weld machinery.
- Experience with crane operation or crane assistance for moving large metal coils.
- Experience performing quality checks, visual inspections, or process auditing in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and follow diagrams and process instructions for quality and production tasks.
- Comfort using tablets or similar devices, such as an iPad, to record and report findings.
- Interest in leadership and building tenure that could support growth into line lead or lead operator responsibilities over time.

Work Environment

You will stand on your feet for 8–10 hours per shift and work at your own station while remaining part of a collaborative team environment, so you are never fully alone. The work involves regular material handling, moving carts, and lifting parts or materials, along with using equipment such as pallet jacks, cranes (where trained), lathes, and grinding machines. Shifts are structured without rotation, and both day and night shifts are available, with a night shift differential. The facility supports a team-oriented atmosphere where safety, quality, and productivity are prioritized.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $14.75 - $17.22/hr.
