Job Description

The Production Associate supports manufacturing operations by performing testing, inspection, light assembly, machine operation, and packaging to help meet customer deadlines. This night shift role focuses on routine production tasks that follow established procedures, with detailed instructions and close supervision provided. The position is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude, basic computer skills, and a positive attitude who want to build a long-term career in a growing manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support production manufacturing activities to ensure customer deadlines and production goals are met.
  • Perform testing, inspection, light assembly, machine operation, and packaging according to established procedures and work instructions.
  • Assemble electronic and mechanical components, including tasks similar to inserting one hose into another by hand, while meeting defined throughput and piece-count metrics.
  • Use basic hand tools and follow blueprints or work instructions to complete routine electronic assembly tasks.
  • Follow detailed instructions on all work assignments and seek approval for any deviations from established policies and procedures.
  • Operate within production standards, quality guidelines, customer specifications, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Monitor personal work output to ensure quality standards are met and deliver work that minimizes scrap, rework, and waste.
  • Use basic computer programs, including production software, spreadsheets for documentation, and email tools to record and communicate work-related information.
  • Adapt to changes in work plans, priorities, and decisions, and support continuous improvement and workplace organization initiatives such as 5S.
  • Work cooperatively within a team and cross-functional groups, sharing information, knowledge, and experience with co-workers.
  • Maintain composure and a level temperament in a fast-paced or stressful production environment.
  • Take on additional assignments as needed and demonstrate flexibility by helping out in other departments when required.
  • Stay current on all required certifications and training for the role and apply new work requirements with minimal supervision.
  • Manage time effectively to complete assignments on schedule without compromising quality.
  • Escalate issues and keep supervisors informed of any problems that could affect quality, safety, or production goals.
Essential Skills
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to navigate production software or programs similar to internet applications, use basic Excel for documentation, and work with email tools such as Outlook.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine assembly and light machine operation tasks.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed instructions, production standards, and basic blueprints or work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting quality standards and production metrics.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Willingness to be flexible, help in other departments, and take on additional assignments as needed.
  • Ability to learn and become comfortable completing different tasks on a frequent basis.
  • Capacity to sit and stand for the duration of a 10- to 12-hour shift and to lift up to approximately 10–15 pounds as part of light industrial assembly work.
  • High School diploma or equivalent GED preferred.
  • One or more years of related manufacturing, production, or assembly experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in electronic manufacturing, including through-hole or surface mount soldering, is highly beneficial.
  • Background in electronic assembly, production, or other manufacturing environments is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and basic mechanical assembly processes.
  • Ability to interpret simple blueprints or diagrams for assembly tasks.
  • Experience in roles such as retail, food service, or other fast-paced environments can translate well into this position.
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work independently while also contributing effectively in a team setting.
  • Openness to feedback and continuous learning, with an interest in progressing and building a long-term career.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities, work plans, and management decisions.
  • Proactive approach to improving productivity, efficiency, quality, and workplace organization (for example, participating in 5S initiatives).
  • Track record of meeting individual throughput goals and completing work on time without compromising quality.

Work Environment

The role is based in a manufacturing environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a moderate noise level. The facility employs approximately 450 permanent employees, providing a structured yet team-oriented setting. This is a light industrial, general assembly environment where associates typically lift no more than 10–15 pounds and perform repetitive but varied tasks focused on small-part assembly and electronic production. Production Associates may sit or stand during their 10-hour shifts, but standing will be required for portions of the work. Night shift schedules are structured as follows: B Shift operates Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.; D Shift operates Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and every other Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Work is routine in nature, with detailed instructions and close supervision, and employees use basic computers, production software, spreadsheets, email tools, and standard hand tools to perform their tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nampa, ID.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.80 - $19.80/hr.
