Job Title: Production Associate

Job Description

As a Production Associate, you inspect and handle parts at the end of an automated machining line. You ensure every part meets precise specifications by performing visual inspections and dimensional checks before loading and preparing products for shipment. This role operates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment on 2nd and 3rd shifts and requires strong attention to detail, consistency, and flexibility with shift assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Work at the end of an automated machining line, handling parts as they come off the machine.
  • Verify that all parts meet required specifications after machining and drilling operations are completed by the equipment.
  • Perform detailed visual inspections on each part to identify flash, scratches, dents, chips, or other defects in the final product.
  • Conduct regular spot checks using micrometers and calipers to confirm that parts meet dimensional and quality standards.
  • Accurately follow inspection procedures and quality guidelines to ensure consistent output and compliance with specifications.
  • Load inspected and approved parts into boxes or containers for delivery, ensuring correct quantities and proper handling.
  • Label boxes accurately and prepare completed containers for removal by forklift or hilo drivers.
  • Maintain a production pace that supports inspection and loading of approximately 25–30 parts per hour.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to support production goals and respond to changing priorities on the line.
  • Adapt to assignments across different areas such as mold line, core shop, or finish line as needed.
  • Follow all plant safety rules and standard operating procedures in a fast-paced foundry environment.
  • Participate in initial training on 1st shift and apply learned skills in mold operation, machine operation, forklift interaction, and foundry processes.
  • Support continuous improvement by reporting recurring issues, defects, or equipment concerns to appropriate personnel.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of manufacturing experience in a production or machine operator role.
  • Proven record of strong job tenure with stable work history.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance, with the ability to meet strict attendance expectations.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced production environment with strong sense of urgency.
  • Ability to perform precise visual inspections for defects such as flash, scratches, dents, and chips.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers for spot checks on finished parts.
  • Willingness and ability to work 2nd and 3rd shifts and remain flexible as shifts may change based on business needs.
  • Comfort working in a foundry or heavy manufacturing setting that involves noise, dirt, and physical activity.
  • Ability to handle and load parts repeatedly to meet hourly production targets.
  • Capability to follow written and verbal instructions, quality standards, and safety procedures.
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albion, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.13 - $23.13/hr.
