Product & Pricing Specialist
Meats by Linz, Hammond, IN
Summary
Meats by Linz is hiring a Product & Pricing specialist to execute and maintain product, cost, and pricing data inside our ERP. The role sits across Sales, Operations, and Finance, supporting weekly cost execution, contract pricing setup, RFP responses, and product master data.
You will not be the sole decision maker on product or pricing configuration on day one. You will work under an established configuration framework, with senior judgment calls and day-to-day guidance provided by internal leadership.
Your job is to learn the system end-to-end: how products are created, how costing and pricing are configured, how categories and classifications hold together, how it all flows. The role is built to grow, from execution and cleanup to standardization and organization, to eventually owning configuration decisions yourself as your judgment develops. We want someone who works cleanly inside a weekly cadence, brings discipline to data, and wants the room to grow into broader pricing and revenue operations work overtime.
Key Responsibilities
Execution & Maintenance, Day One
• Create, maintain, and manage product codes and master data within the ERP (processed, purchased, and bundled), ensuring accuracy across product, cost, and pricing records.
• Input and maintain yield formulas, costing data, and pricing structures for both street and contract accounts, working from approved inputs.
• Execute the weekly pricing update process: cost changes, formula-based adjustments, and validation check to ensure pricing accuracy.
• Populate and maintain RFP pricing files, ensuring alignment with current costs, approved inputs, and contract yields that protect bottom-line margin.
• Build and maintain contract pricing logic (formula buildouts, matrix configuration, tiered markup and rebate structures) under internal direction.
• Support customer classification and ERP onboarding for new accounts (related to costing and pricing setup).
• Maintain product specification data, ensuring consistency between ERP data, internal documentation, and customer requirements.
Ownership That Develops Over Time
• Own the cleanup of product, costing, and pricing data: identify inconsistencies, stale records, and gaps, and resolve them on a regular cadence.
• Own organization of product categorization, attributes, and hierarchies as your judgment develops, driving standardization across the team.
• Run annual pricing audits for contracted accounts; identify, document, and resolve discrepancies between contracts, costing, and invoicing.
• Develop a thorough understanding of product management end-to-end (creation, configuration, formula design, classification logic), with the goal of eventually making configuration decisions independently.
Job Requirements and Skills
• 1–3 years in product data, costing, pricing, merchandising, contract administration, or ERP support with hands-on responsibility for system data entry and maintenance.
• Working knowledge of product costing and pricing concepts; able to accurately implement approved inputs within an ERP.
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with structured data.
• Strong attention to detail and data discipline; operates inside a weekly cadence without slipping.
• Strong organizational and written communication skills; works cross-functionally and follows defined processes.
• Comfortable executing under direction now while building the knowledge to take on more decision authority over time.
Preferred
• Experience with ERP systems used in food, manufacturing, wholesale, or distribution (e.g., Canopy, Deacom, Aspen, CSB, JustFood, Produce Pro, NetSuite, Dynamics, SAP, Infor).
• Exposure to contract pricing structures, pricing matrices, or RFP response workflows.
• Exposure to the protein industry (beef, pork, poultry, seafood) and concepts like catchweight, yield, or USDA weekly averaging.
• Comfort building and maintaining structured data in Excel (formulas, lookups, pivot tables).
