Key Responsibilities
Product Qualification & Characterization
- Own the qualification strategy, planning, and execution for power and high‑power semiconductor devices.
- Lead characterization of new product performance before manufacturing release, including electrical, thermal, and reliability assessments
- Ensure compliance with global standards (e.g., JEDEC, IEC, IEEE) and customer‑specific qualification requirements
- Manage RMA / field return analysis in collaboration with quality and reliability teams
Product Engineering Leadership
- Lead and mentor the product engineering team focused on power semiconductor device lifecycle activities, including NPI, qualification, ramp‑up, and sustenance
- Develop and maintain engineering databases, test flows, and documentation frameworks
- Oversee wafer sort and final test data disposition, yield enhancement initiatives, and statistical process control implementation.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with device design, technology development, packaging, and manufacturing to ensure seamless release into production
- Act as technical liaison between engineering, operations, quality, and customer engineering teams.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and ensure smooth transition from engineering builds to volume manufacturing
Reliability & Failure Analysis
- Work with reliability teams to define, execute, and review reliability stress tests (HTRB, H3TRB, TC, HTOL, power cycling).
- Drive root‑cause investigations for failures during qualification or production using FA labs, DOE methodologies, and Six Sigma‑aligned practices
Continuous Improvement
- Implement data‑driven methods to optimize yield, improve device robustness, and reduce cost.
- Monitor product performance trends and drive corrective/improvement actions.
- Evaluate new tools, methodologies, and workflows to strengthen the product engineering function.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Semiconductor Device Physics, or related fields.
- Minimum 8–12 years experience in power semiconductor product engineering, including device characterization, qualification, and release‑to‑production
- Knowledge of power semiconductor device physics
- Proven experience in device qualification methodologies, reliability standards, and statistical analysis of power semiconductor performance
- Hands‑on experience with test methodologies, power electronics measurements, and debugging of high‑power devices.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with wide‑bandgap devices (SiC, GaN)
- Familiarity with yield enhancement and Six‑Sigma‑based problem solving
- Experience with wafer fabrication, packaging processes, and final test flows for power devices.
- Strong knowledge of SPC, DOE, reliability physics of failure, and qualification road‑mapping.
Soft Skills
