Position Overview:

Freddie Mac’s Finance Division is seeking a Product Analyst Professional to join the Multifamily CFO product team supporting the delivery of a finance and accounting application. In this role, you will work closely with MF CFO stakeholders and the delivery team to elicit, analyze, and translate business requirements into clear product requirements (epics, features, and user stories). A key focus will be defining how Multifamily business events are converted into accounting events, ensuring the application produces accurate, auditable accounting outcomes aligned with business intent and accounting policy.

This position requires strong collaboration across Finance, Technology, Controls, and Operations to drive clarity, manage change as requirements evolve, and resolve complex data and process questions throughout the build and release lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings strong critical thinking skills, a solid background in secondary mortgage and/or accounting, and the ability to simplify complex concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Our Impact:

Freddie Mac’s Finance Division provides financial and analytical support to achieve business line objectives. Our responsibilities include managing the company's financial controls, accounting, investor relations, financial planning and analysis, financial analysis-risk and reporting (including financial reporting related to our SEC and regulatory filings), tax capital oversight, compliance with the requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley, and the development, integration, and management of our corporate sustainability strategy in alignment with our overarching corporate strategy and mission.

Your Impact:

  • Translate Multifamily secondary mortgage business events into clear, actionable accounting event requirements to support automation and operational scalability.
  • Support working sessions with Finance, Technology, and Data partners to validate requirements, resolve open questions, and document decisions.
  • Manage change requests by gathering requirements, performing impact analysis, and converting approved changes into prioritized user stories.
  • Maintain end-to-end traceability from business needs through requirements, testing, and production outcomes.
  • Partner with Control Leads and Operational Risk to design and implement automated controls (e.g., reconciliations, approvals, monitoring) aligned to policy and governance expectations.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and support internal/external audits and remediation activities.
  • Own SIT/UAT planning and execution, including test strategy, test cases, evidence collection, defect triage, and readiness sign-off support.
  • Support parallel runs and post-release stabilization by investigating variances, coordinating fixes, and confirming accurate accounting results.
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, refinement, reviews, retrospectives); proactively manage dependencies, risks, and delivery timelines.
  • Plan and execute data conversion, data mapping and data reconciliation tasks.
  • Develop and execute a transition plan to the Application Support team, including knowledge transfer, runbooks/procedures, and handoff of operational ownership.

Qualifications:

  • 2 - 4 years of experience in secondary mortgage operations, accounting/finance operations, finance transformation, and/or accounting policy support.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Strong knowledge of secondary mortgage processes and business event-to-accounting events flows.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams (Finance, Technology, Data) to deliver process and system enhancements.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into clear documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with requirements elicitation, process mapping, and documentation (e.g., user stories, acceptance criteria).
  • Familiarity with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with finance systems, ERP/accounting platforms, and/or business process automation.
  • Experience working in an Agile delivery model. Proficiency with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience supporting audits, control design, SOX-related activities, and/or operational risk controls.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA) are a plus.
  • Working experiences on an end-to-end project/new initiative life cycle are a plus.

Keys to success in this Role:

  • Deliver solutions that are traceable, testable, audit-ready and supported by clear, well-maintained documentation.
  • Proactively manage multiple workstreams, surface risks early, and consistently deliver on commitments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Consolidate stakeholder input to clarify requirements, close gaps, and drive aligned decisions.
  • Build strong partnerships across Finance, Technology, Data, and Risk to improve accuracy, efficiency, and control.
  • Maintain strong organization, attention to detail, and a high bar for quality and ownership.
