Main responsibilities:

  • Oversee produce department operations across the assigned district, focusing on labor efficiency, shrink reduction, merchandising execution, and operational consistency.
  • Train and coach store-level teams to effectively implement merchandising, sales, and operational plans.
  • Support retail teams in proper production, handling, packaging, and rotation practices to maintain high product quality and freshness.
  • Ensure consistent execution of stocking, display standards, backroom organization, and sales floor presentation.
  • Implement and monitor in-store coding and inventory practices to support accurate ordering and customer satisfaction.
  • Champion the use of automated replenishment and inventory tools to drive accurate forecasts and ordering.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to improve cleanliness, safety, training, labor planning, and gross profit performance.
  • Plan and support display resets and transitions in collaboration with merchandising partners to minimize sales disruption.
  • Lead by example in reinforcing company values, identifying talent, and supporting associate development and readiness for promotion.

    • Produce department operations and merchandising best practices
    • Retail inventory management systems and automated replenishment tools
    • Food handling, quality, and freshness standards
    • Retail financial drivers such as gross profit, shrink, and labor

    Abilities

    • Ability to analyze operational data and use insights to drive improvements
    • Ability to identify issues quickly and implement effective solutions
    • Ability to lead and influence without direct authority
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities across a multi-store environment

    Educational requirements: 

    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Relevant retail management experience may be considered in lieu of formal education

    Travel requirements: 

  • Regular travel within the assigned district/market (Colorado) required

    Other requirements: 

    • Prior experience as a Department Manager, Assistant Store Director, or Store Director strongly preferred
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
    • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
