Job Summary

The procurement specialist will plan, and process all assigned tactical procurement and inventory control transactions and maintain optimal price and delivery cycle while maintaining the lowest possible operational inventory levels. Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials from outside suppliers or between facilities according to production schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up/add new vendors to ERP system.
  • Creates and approves sales orders in ERP for production and warehouse planning.
  • Receives and creates billing in ERP for outbound shipments for produced and shipped products.
  • Creates purchase orders and billing for inbound deliveries.
  • Enter `all Chep pallets into Chep’s transfer portal for shipped product.
  • Plan, issue and manage Purchase Orders, Acknowledgments, and Expedite/Cancel/Defer Requests using ERP and other release systems.
  • Work with Plant Operations to project, forecast and plan material and purchased component needs as assigned.
  • Coordinate daily requirements/commitments with the supplier base to ensure timely shipping and communicate with Shipping and Receiving to verify that materials and/or components are received and stored/allocated as per procedure.
  • Manage inventory movement and accuracy, designated stocking levels, NetSuite inventory processes, buy/stocking quantities, supplier managed inventory and all other metrics affecting inventory turns via cycle counting, variance investigation, and continuous coordination of information flow between Operations, Engineering and Supply Chain personnel.
  • Will complete weekly cycle counts of bulk items.
  • Completion of a bi-weekly 4 cycle count.
  • Active participation in monthly and year-end inventory count.
  • Interact with 3rd party Supply Chain personnel to ensure a seamless flow of information throughout every level of the supply chain.
  • Prepare and submit daily and weekly paperwork and reports as required.
  • Provide training and assistance to other employees as assigned.
  • Follow action and communication protocols for nonstandard deviation in processes or materials.

Qualifications

  • Commitment to a safety culture where safety is the first consideration before starting any task.
  • Strong computer skills, including ERP/MRP Systems, Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Basic understanding of Supply Chain and Inventory Control processes/procedures.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills both up and down throughout the facility.
  • Solid analytical and planning skills.
  • Proficient in problem analysis and resolution.
  • Effective knowledge and understanding of manufacturing process.
  • Strong team player.


Education

  • Bachelors or associate degree in business or combination of education and experience in a related field.
  • Three to five years’ experience in Supply Chain preferred.
