Job Title: Processor
Job Description

The Processor plays a key role in a high-volume food manufacturing environment by loading raw materials, operating processing equipment, and mixing finished products to precise formulas. • Physically load raw materials such as spices, sugars, seasonings, and other ingredients into processing machines according to established formulas and production needs.
  • Operate processing machinery using local control panels to manage additions of metered and manually weighed ingredients and to transfer batches through each stage of production.
  • Monitor machine run times and settings to ensure products are processed for the correct duration and according to specifications.
  • Keep accurate paper and electronic logs of all materials fed into machines, including quantities and batch information.
  • Perform routine quality checks on products as they exit the machines and enter containers, verifying that they meet quality and safety standards.
  • Prepare and mix finished products in alignment with established formulas, adjusting as needed based on production requirements.
  • Set up processing decks and equipment for the daily production schedule, ensuring all tools, materials, and machinery are ready for use.
  • Maintain the highest standards of product quality and consistency by following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety procedures.

  • Lift and move materials and product containers weighing up to 50 pounds as part of daily tasks.
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines while working around processing equipment and in wet or damp areas.
  • Communicate any equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or material shortages promptly to appropriate personnel.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in food processing or food manufacturing is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to operate processing or production machinery in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Familiarity with HACCP principles and food safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and standard operating procedures in English.
  • Basic math skills to verify quantities of ingredients and record accurate production data.
  • Capability to perform quality control checks on products during processing.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort working around continuously running machinery and following required safety protocols, including hearing protection.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Background in quality control within a production or processing environment.

Work Environment

This role is based in a busy food processing facility where you work closely with a team in a fast-paced production environment. You will work around continuously operating machines and processing lines, with a steady Background hum that requires the use of hearing protection in the processing bay. The area can be wet at times due to sanitation and CIP (clean-in-place) activities, including routine spray-down of equipment, so you must be comfortable working in damp conditions around industrial food-processing machinery.
