Process Technician

The Process Technician sets up, changes over, and operates blow mold equipment to support efficient, high-quality production. This role ensures machinery runs smoothly to meet production goals while performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on production equipment within a plastics manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up blow mold equipment according to production specifications and safety standards.
• Perform changeovers on blow mold equipment to support different product runs and minimize downtime.
• Operate blow mold machinery efficiently to meet or exceed daily and weekly production targets.
• Monitor equipment performance and product quality during operation, making necessary adjustments to maintain consistent output.
• Perform routine maintenance on production equipment to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment life.
• Conduct minor repairs on blow mold and related production equipment as issues arise.
• Inspect finished plastic products for defects and ensure they meet quality and dimensional requirements.
• Follow established operating procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards at all times.
• Communicate equipment issues, maintenance needs, and production concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area around all machinery and equipment.

• Hands-on experience setting up, changing over, and operating blow mold equipment.
• Practical knowledge of plastics manufacturing processes, particularly blow molding.
• Ability to work with plastic injection mold and blow mold machinery in a production environment.
• Basic mechanical aptitude to perform routine maintenance and minor equipment repairs.
• Ability to monitor and adjust machine settings to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
• Strong attention to detail when inspecting plastic products for quality and consistency.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, standard operating procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing setting while meeting production goals.

• Any education or certifications related to manufacturing are a plus.
• Any education or certifications related to maintenance or industrial equipment are a bonus.
• Familiarity with plastic injection molding processes in addition to blow molding is advantageous.
• Comfort working with various types of plastic materials in a production environment.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new equipment, processes, and production requirements.

Work Environment

This role operates in a plastics manufacturing facility with blow mold and plastic injection mold equipment. You will work on and around production machinery for most of the shift, performing setups, changeovers, operations, and routine maintenance. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, requiring adherence to safety protocols and standard operating procedures. You can expect typical manufacturing conditions such as machine noise and frequent standing, walking, and handling of materials and equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Joseph, MO.

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Saint Joseph,MO.
