Description


The Process Engineer is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing operational improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, compliance, and cost performance across the organization. This role requires a highly motivated self-starter who can independently identify opportunities, work through ambiguity, and drive cross-functional initiatives from concept through execution. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with a practical, hands-on approach to process optimization in a GMP-regulated environment.


Essential Functions


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, quality, and cost performance across manufacturing, supply chain, and supporting functions.
  • Lead and execute process improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Analyze existing workflows, systems, and data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and risks.
  • Develop and implement sustainable solutions that improve process reliability, scalability, and compliance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including process standardization, automation, and system enhancements.
  • Ensure all process improvements comply with applicable GMP requirements, regulatory standards, and internal quality systems.
  • Develop metrics and dashboards to monitor process performance and track improvement outcomes.
  • Document processes, procedures, and improvement initiatives in accordance with GMP documentation standards.
  • Act as a change agent by promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.


Process Ownership & System Expertise

  • Serve as process owner for assigned operational workflows, ensuring processes are clearly defined, documented, and consistently executed.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), process maps, and work instructions in compliance with GMP requirements.
  • Establish process governance, including change management, process controls, and documentation standards.
  • Monitor process performance through defined KPIs and metrics, ensuring processes remain efficient, compliant, and scalable.
  • Ensure processes are aligned across departments, driving standardization and best practices across the organization.
  • Develop strong working knowledge of key operational and business systems used to support manufacturing, supply chain, and quality processes.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for process-related systems and tools, supporting system optimization and continuous improvement.


Performance

  • Demonstrate the ability to independently identify, prioritize, and execute improvement opportunities with measurable impact.
  • Deliver process improvement initiatives that result in quantifiable gains in efficiency, cost control, quality, or service levels.
  • Effectively manage multiple improvement initiatives simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Build strong partnerships across cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders to adopt process changes.
  • Maintain high standards for GMP compliance, documentation quality, and audit readiness.
  • Exhibit strong ownership and accountability for assigned processes and projects from concept through implementation and sustained results.
  • Operate with a continuous improvement mindset, proactively seeking opportunities to simplify, standardize, and optimize processes.


Cross-Functional Communication & Collaboration

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, quality, supply chain, and local/ global leadership teams to drive improvement projects.
  • Build strong working relationships across teams to drive alignment and adoption of new processes and systems.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical or process concepts in a way that is clear and actionable for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


General/Administrative

  • Supports the company vision and mission and demonstrates the corporate core values in all professional activities.
  • Complies with all safety requirements, work rules, and regulations.
  • Compiles and maintains all required paperwork, records, and documentation.
  • Follows systems and procedures outlined in company manuals.
  • Participates as a team player by supporting company operations as needed.
  • All other duties as requested by management.
  • This position is based out of Fort Worth, Texas.
  • This role is expected to be onsite Monday-Friday.
  • Up to 15% travel may be required for this role.


Basic Qualifications


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or related technical discipline required.
  • Training or demonstrated experience in GMP regulations and quality systems applicable to pharmaceutical, biotechnology environments.
  • 5 years of process improvement/development, operations engineering, or lean manufacturing experience may be substituted for the educational requirement.



Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in process improvement/development, operations engineering, manufacturing or related roles.
  • Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment (pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device) required.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data analysis skills.


Skills

  • Knowledge of process mapping, statistical analysis, and data-driven decision-making tools.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in operational excellence, quality systems, and process optimization
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and lead improvement projects independently.
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments and drive projects with limited direction.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar) preferred.
