1-Year Contract

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Sr Associate Scientist to support downstream purification process development for biologics during pivotal and commercial development stages.

This is a hands-on laboratory-based role focused on bench-scale purification development, process characterization, and experimental execution in a fast-paced GMP-aligned environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in chromatography, filtration, and UF/DF operations, along with the ability to independently execute, troubleshoot, and optimize purification processes.

Core Responsibilities (Simplified)

Purification Development

  • Execute bench-scale downstream purification (chromatography, filtration, UF/DF)
  • Support process characterization, robustness, resin/membrane lifetime studies
  • Generate and interpret experimental data under data integrity standards

Lab & Technical Execution

  • Troubleshoot AKTA-based purification systems and workflows
  • Improve reproducibility and process robustness
  • Maintain lab readiness, instruments, and documentation (ELN, protocols, reports)

Cross-functional Support

  • Collaborate with upstream/downstream teams
  • Support implementation of new purification technologies

Must-Have Skills (Screening Critical)

Look for candidates with:

  • MS + 4 yrs OR BS + 6 yrs relevant biotech/pharma experience
  • Strong hands-on downstream purification experience
  • Chromatography (Protein A, IEX, HIC, SEC ideally)
  • Filtration + UF/DF (tangential flow filtration/TFF)
  • Experience executing lab-scale purification experiments independently
  • Strong data analysis + ELN documentation discipline

Nice-to-Have

  • AKTA system experience
  • UNICORN software proficiency
  • Experience in process characterization / late-stage development
  • Resin/membrane lifetime or robustness studies
