Senior Process Coordinator

Position Summary

The Senior Process Coordinator leads the coordination, optimization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality production. This role serves as a critical link between Production, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain, with a strong emphasis on coatings processes—particularly hard‑coat painting of plastics and optical components.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Process Leadership

  • Coordinate daily manufacturing activities to ensure production schedules, quality standards, and operational targets are met.
  • Analyze production workflows to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and process gaps.
  • Support production teams in resolving process interruptions, equipment issues, and quality concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and update work instructions as processes evolve.

Coatings & Process Development

  • Support and improve coatings processes, including hard‑coat painting of plastics and/or optical components.
  • Lead or support process development activities related to coatings, fluids, and surface treatments.
  • Write, develop, and maintain process requirements, specifications, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to optimize coatings materials, equipment, and methods.

Continuous Improvement & Metrics

  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
  • Analyze production and quality data to improve throughput, reduce scrap and rework, and increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) including output, scrap, downtime, labor efficiency, and OEE.
  • Develop reports and dashboards to communicate performance trends and operational insights.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to drive operational performance.
  • Support new product introductions (NPI) and manufacturing process transitions.
  • Ensure process changes are clearly communicated, documented, and implemented across departments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field or equivalent manufacturing experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of manufacturing process experience
  • Strong background in coatings processes, with preference for:
  • Hard‑coat painting of plastics
  • Plastics and/or optical components
  • Fluids handling and application systems
  • Experience working with suppliers and external vendors
  • Proven ability to develop process requirements, SOPs, and work instructions
  • Experience tracking KPIs and driving data‑based improvements

Preferred Experience

  • Automotive lighting or similar high‑volume manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with paint systems and coating technologies
