$150,000 - $180,000
Texas - Travel included
Role Overview
The Principal Electrical Engineer – Power Systems is a senior technical leadership role responsible for the design and delivery of large-scale electrical infrastructure solutions across industrial and mission-critical environments.
This is a hands-on, subject matter expert (SME) position, focused on solving complex engineering challenges, defining system architecture, and providing technical leadership across multiple high-value projects. The role does not include direct people management but requires mentoring and elevating engineering standards across the team.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & System Design
- Lead end-to-end design of MV/LV electrical power systems for industrial and mission-critical projects
- Own and define system architecture, including:
- Medium- and low-voltage distribution systems
- Substations and grid interfaces
- Backup power systems (generators, UPS)
- Act as the technical authority on complex, high-value projects
- Establish engineering approaches, standards, and best practices
Engineering Delivery
- Develop and review detailed engineering deliverables, including:
- Single-line diagrams
- Protection and coordination studies
- Electrical schematics
- Equipment layouts
- Oversee technical quality and consistency across multiple projects
- Ensure designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements
Project & Customer Engagement
- Partner directly with customers to develop robust, scalable power solutions
- Provide expert input during early-stage concept and design phases
