The Principal Architect role is a critical enabler for aligning Baptist Health’s business strategy with the evolving technology landscape across the enterprise. As the organization pursues digital transformation, data modernization, AI and operational efficiency, the Principal Architect will be pivotal in ensuring every technology investment is strategically connected to business outcomes. This role is responsible for navigating a complex technical environment that includes Google Cloud, AWS, Azure, and on-premises systems to enhance patient care, clinical effectiveness, and organizational agility.

Candidates with prior experience in healthcare or regulated industries are strongly preferred.

Degrees:

  • Bachelors.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor‘s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Strongly prefer a minimum of 15 years of experience in IT with 6+ years of experience as a Solution or Enterprise Architect for multiple domains (preferably Enterprise Architect)
  • Deep understanding of governance framework and ARB (Architecture Review Board) operations.
  • Experience developing and managing architecture taxonomies, patterns, and standards.
  • Proven ability to align architecture with strategic objectives and OKRs.
  • Hands-on familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure), API-led integration, security-by-design, and data architecture principles.
  • Experience integrating emerging platforms or modernizing legacy systems at scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-domain architectural initiatives and guide decision processes.
  • Broad and deep knowledge across multiple technology disciplines, including security, infrastructure, data, and AI.
  • Exceptional storyteller who can articulate the “why” behind architectural decisions and direction in simple, business-relevant terms.
  • Strong understanding of business strategy, clinical workflows, and healthcare technology landscape.

Highly Preferred:

  • Exposure to AI/ML enablement or data-driven architecture patterns
  • Proven experience with large-scale digital transformation, data modernization, and cloud migration projects.
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR).
  • Expertise with enterprise architecture tools (e.g., tools like LeanIX or ServiceNow)
