Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Solutions Architect with deep expertise in data security and cybersecurity architecture. This role will serve as a strategic leader and technical expert responsible for defining and implementing enterprise-wide data protection frameworks across complex environments.
This position bridges traditional data protection and compliance technologies with modern AI-driven security practices, ensuring data is secured throughout its lifecycle across cloud, on-prem, and emerging AI platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead enterprise data protection strategy across structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data environments
- Architect and implement data classification, governance, and protection solutions using modern security platforms
- Design and enforce Data Loss Prevention (DLP) strategies across endpoints, cloud platforms, email, and collaboration tools
- Provide architectural oversight for secure data pipelines, including AI/ML and LLM-based systems (e.g., RAG, vector databases)
- Develop and implement data lifecycle strategies including retention, archival, deduplication, and migration of legacy data
- Establish data security policies, standards, and frameworks aligned with regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, GDPR, CCPA)
- Lead threat modeling, risk assessments, and creation of security playbooks and incident response protocols
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Security Engineering, Data Governance, Cloud, and AI/ML teams
- Evaluate and integrate third-party data security and monitoring tools
- Drive automation and scalability of data classification, monitoring, and response capabilities
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years of experience in data architecture, cybersecurity, or data security roles
- Strong experience with data protection technologies, including DLP, data classification, and governance tools
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and enterprise data environments
- Experience with Snowflake and modern data engineering ecosystems
- Experience with Microsoft security stack (e.g., Azure Purview, Microsoft Defender, Information Protection)
- Proven ability to operate in a principal or lead architecture role across large organizations
- Strong understanding of data security principles, encryption standards, and secure data handling practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in highly regulated industries (e.g., utilities, finance, healthcare)
- Experience securing AI/ML or LLM-based data pipelines
- Familiarity with vector databases, RAG architectures, and AI data security patterns
- Experience with Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) tools
- Knowledge of advanced cryptographic concepts (e.g., differential privacy, homomorphic encryption)
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, or Azure Security certifications
- Experience with legacy data cleanup, archival, or migration initiatives
