EpiBio is seeking a motivated, talented, and collaborative scientist with a strong background in translational research, including cancer biology, in vivo and in vitro pharmacology, nonclinical/IND-enabling studies, and antibody drug discovery. The candidate will work with cross-functional teams to drive the progression of our pipeline programs from discovery research through development candidate nomination and IND submission. The candidate will be responsible for a variety of translational oncology and pharmacology activities, supporting the design, coordination, execution, and analysis of translational oncology models, in addition to primary cell and tissue-based translational assays. The candidate will also support nonclinical pharmacology and toxicology IND-enabling studies. The successful candidate will have demonstrated a sustained track record of being an impactful scientist, who is comfortable in a fast-paced early R&D start-up environment.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Lead the selection, design, coordination, execution, and analysis of mouse and other translational oncology models in partnership with EpiBio teams and external CROs. The role will incorporate efficacy, pharmacodynamics, mechanism of action, pharmacokinetic and toxicology studies, as well as presenting results in internal project team meetings.Additional responsibilities include establishing the clinical path for new drug candidates including investigating target expression in primary tissues and cells (e.g. histopathology, flow cytometry or other protein detection methods) and executing primary cell/tissue-based assays related to drug candidate mechanism of action, toxicity and/or immune function (e.g. ADCC/ADCP). The role will also support nonclinical pharmacology and toxicology studies through IND-enablement.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES: PhD degree in cell biology, cancer biology, immunology, or related discipline with experience in biologics/oncology therapeutics discovery and/or translational research (industry experience required) Expertise with oncology-related in vivo pharmacology models and downstream tissue analysis for mechanism of action investigation (cell-line and patient-derived tumor models, pharmacodynamic biomarkers, pharmacokinetics, etc.) Expertise with protein-based target expression/prevalence studies in primary human tissues (IHC, IF, flow cytometry, etc.) Experience in primary immune cell, cancer cell-based or reporter cell-based assay development (primary immune cell enrichment, cytokine readouts such as Luminex/MSD, Incuycte, flow cytometry, ELISA, western blot, WES, qPCR, transfection, etc.) Experience with public oncology/human tissue database mining (e.g. TCGA, GTEX, Blueprint, DepMAP, etc.) Experience with the IND process including the nonclinical pharmacology and toxicology sections Strong written and oral communication skills as demonstrated with a record of publications in high-quality scientific journals, patents and/or conference presentationsComputer and Equipment Skills Foundational computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and the Internet.
