A globally recognized multidisciplinary engineering and design consultancy, is seeking an Associate Principal level Mechanical Engineering leader to support the continued growth of its Life Sciences practice across the Bay Area.

Key Responsibilities

Lead mechanical engineering design and project delivery for medium-to-large scale Life Sciences and laboratory projects


Act as Engineer of Record across technically complex facilities

Manage multiple concurrent projects including planning, budgeting, scheduling, staffing, and quality oversight


Serve as a key technical and client-facing lead throughout project lifecycles

Mentor and guide multidisciplinary engineering teams


Support business development activities including proposals, presentations, networking, and relationship management


Contribute to strategic growth initiatives within the Life Sciences market


Support the integration of sustainable and innovative engineering solutions

Coordinate closely with leadership teams on client development and target accounts


Desired Background


Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering



PE license in California

15+ years of experience within building engineering consulting


Strong experience delivering Life Sciences, laboratory, pharmaceutical, or R&D facilities

Proven project leadership and team management capabilities

Strong communication and client relationship skills


Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and technical delivery

Familiarity with multidisciplinary project environments and industry standards


Preferred Experience


Exposure to business development and strategic growth initiativesExperience participating in industry events, conferences, or technical forums


Sustainability-focused project experience


Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is expected to be in the region of $180k–$245k base salary, depending on experience and market alignment, alongside a highly competitive overall benefits package (Bi-Annual Profit sharing & 10% 401k Match)
