Job Description

Associa is hiring a Porter for its community in Sterling, VA.

Daily responsibilities:

  • Perform general cleaning, light floor care and special event set ups.
  • Remove all trash from all trash receptacles and doggie stations; replenish bags as necessary.
  • Create and maintain positive and professional relationships with all community residents, contractors, and visitors.
  • Conduct routine/scheduled walk-throughs and drive-throughs to assess, record, and report property conditions, e.g. graffiti, parking violations, missing/damaged signs, damaged fences, trail blockages, fallen trees, bulk trash violations, suspicious activities, etc.
  • Assist with all grounds and facilities projects.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of all tot lots, common parking lots, tennis/pickleball courts, basketball courts, and all other common areas.
  • Make pickups/deliveries of supplies, materials, and/or equipment.
  • Ensure upkeep and cleanliness of maintenance shop, shop yard, company vehicles and company equipment.
  • Assist with quarterly tools & equipment inventory.
  • Assist with events and meetings setups, e.g. tables, chairs, etc.
  • Perform general cleaning, light floor care and special event set ups.
  • Operate company vehicle as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Required.
  • 1+ year of related experience.
  • Professional customer service and communication skills (written and spoken).
  • Timely follow-up skills and team oriented.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, and work efficiently.
  • Proactive work habits and takes the initiative.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance requirements, (documentation, safety, required reporting,regulations, etc.).
  • Knowledge of State or local governmental safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of equipment associated with custodial trades.
  • Interpretation and completion of verbal and/or written instructions at a proficient level.
