What does the role entail?

The Pools & Recreation Manager oversees all Pool outlets & Recreation outlets within the hotel, operated by Hyatt. They manage 2 poolside food and beverage outlets, which also contain cabana and fire pit service. In addition to this they will oversee our recreation department, which includes food service to the beach, beach bonfires, 3 waterslides and the kid’s club.
They will also have oversight of all Pools & Recreation departments, staffing needs, training, cash control for agents, and all aspects of guest services. Additional responsibilities include staff development and scheduling.
Duties Include:
· Responsible for short- and long-term planning and the management of the hotel outlet operations in the front and back of the house
· Develop and recommend the budget, concepts and objectives and manage within those approved plans
· Implement and maintain food & beverage sales/marketing programs
· Oversee development of employees
· Hire, train, empower, coach and counsel, performance and salary reviews
· Responsible for implementation of the payroll, reports, forecasts, inventory and budget for outlet operations
· Coordinate outlet operations with other hotel departments to ensure efficient guest service
· Resolve customer complaints as appropriate to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality
· Implement procedures to increase guest and employee satisfaction
· Exercise quality control for both food and beverage
· Maintain Hyatt standards of service and ensure their implementation
· Perform daily walk-through to ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations and Hyatt Corporate standards
· Maintain communications with Corporate Office
· Coach and counsel employees to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures

Qualifications
Your experience:
· A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
· 2 years or more of progressive hotel Rooms or F&B management experience (preferably with Hyatt)
· Experience in implementing new food & beverage concepts
· Refined verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to work a flexible schedule including Weekends, Holidays and Overnight Shifts
· Must be proficient in general computer knowledge, including a working knowledge of Opera & Reserve
· Candidates should be extremely detail oriented and organized
· Candidates should possess proven leadership skills
· The responsibilities include assisting in overseeing any area in the Rooms Division
· Duties may also include training, staff development and scheduling
· Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Must be able to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time.
· Must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
· Must have physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight
· Ability to push and pull heavy amounts of weight
· Ability to work outdoors in the sun and sand
· CPR/First Aid/Lifeguard Certification preferred
· California Food Handlers Certification required
· CA Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification Required
