The Plant Supervisor manages daily production, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality in chemical blending and manufacturing operations. This role reports directly to the Plant Manager and is responsible for leading staff, maintaining strict compliance with safety/environmental regulations, and optimizing workflows to meet production goals.

Core Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Reporting
  • Manage day-to-day shift operations to meet production schedules and quality standards.
  • Provide regular production, safety, and personnel updates to the Plant Manager.
  • Lead shift hand-over meetings to ensure seamless communication and continuity between rotations.
  • Assist the Plant Manager in developing and tracking long-term operational strategies and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Safety, Compliance & Emergency Response
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental policies, including OSHA regulations, HSE manuals, and SOPs.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for on-site safety incidents or environmental excursions in the absence of the Plant Manager.
  • Oversee Process Safety Management (PSM) and ensure all "Management of Change" (MOC) protocols are followed.
Personnel Management & Culture
  • Supervise, train, and mentor operators, including hiring, performance evaluations, and scheduling shifts.
  • Resolve labor relations issues and shift-to-shift conflicts to maintain a positive and productive work culture.
  • Ensure all staff are properly trained on the specific hazards of the chemical blending environment.
Troubleshooting, Quality & Improvement
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and troubleshoot equipment like centrifugal pumps, flow meters, and PLC interfaces.
  • Oversee in-process lab testing and verify batch sheets to ensure 100% adherence to precise blending formulations.
  • Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and minimize waste.
Inventory & Logistics
  • Ensure adequate raw materials and chemical supply are available for scheduled production needs.
  • Coordinate with logistics to ensure final batches are approved for packaging and shipping.

Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in chemical blending, production, or manufacturing, preferably in a TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) environment.
  • Knowledge: Deep working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM), chemical regulations, and high-hazard fluid dynamics.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in ERP systems, automated production monitoring, and computer-based reporting.
  • Leadership: Strong decision-making skills and the ability to act as a stabilized leader during high-pressure situations.

Physical and Shift Requirements
  • Shift Work: Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends or rotating schedules.
  • Environment: Ability to work in a chemical plant environment, which includes wearing specialized PPE (Respirators, suits, etc.).
  • Physical Demands: Ability to climb ladders/stairs for tank inspections and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $23.00 - $25.00 Per Hour
