As a Quality Manager you will lead your Quality Team in analyzing, evaluating, and presenting information concerning factors such as business situations, production capabilities, manufacturing problems, economic trends, and cost associated with Quality Assurance for the manufacturing facility.
- Suggest and discuss alternative methods and procedures in solving problems both internal and external.
- Develops initial and subsequent modifications of product Quality Assurance Program to delineate areas of responsibility, staffing, and operational procedures within program, according to and consistent with company goals and policies.
- Part of the Plant Management Team to establish and review program policies/procedures to attain company and customer goals.
- Review technical problems and procedures encountered and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures.
- Develop and analyzes statistical data to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
- Formulate and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
- Directs, through intermediate staff, engaging in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
- Serves as the Plant Quality Management Champion for IATF 16949.
- Appoint an EMR within the Quality Department per environmental procedures.
- Provides quality characteristics during product or process development to meet customer expectations.
- Coordinate development and maintenance of the Quality Manual and Quality System requirements.
- Addresses and follows through with in-house and customer issues.
- This role has five direct reports 2 Quality Engineers, Quality Supervisor, and Quality Administrator, part of the Plant Management Team reporting to the Plant Manager, and supported by the Area Quality Manager.
SUCCESS FACTORS:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university.
- 5+ years management experience in automotive manufacturing; metal tubing a plus.
- 7+ years Quality Assurance experience within the automotive industry.
- Demonstrate lean manufacturing, continuous improvements methodologies and initiatives.
- Advance proficency in MS Office with focus on MS Excel, and ERP and Quality systems.
