The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all manufacturing operations and personnel at the injection molding facility, ensuring efficient production, quality control, and workforce management. This leadership role focuses on achieving operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced production environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality, and logistics.
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to meet production goals, cost targets, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor and drive performance metrics for productivity, safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Direct and support department supervisors and team leads to ensure effective day-to-day operations.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across the facility.
- Coordinate with engineering, supply chain, and other departments to resolve production issues and streamline workflows.
- Manage plant budgets and oversee procurement of materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and company policies.
- Hire, train, evaluate, and develop plant personnel to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce.
- Prepare regular reports on plant performance and present to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (5+ years) in plant or operations management within a plastics injection molding environment.
- Established expertise owning and managing full P&L responsibility, including driving EBITDA improvement through cost control, productivity gains, and operational execution.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate cross-functional teams.
- In-depth knowledge of injection molding processes, equipment, and quality systems.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills at all organizational levels.
- Proficiency in production planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field – or – equivalent combination of education and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
