Job Summary: The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and performance of ACS Manufacturing’s Clearfield, Utah facility. This role owns the full plant P&L and is accountable for safety, quality, on-time delivery, operational efficiency, and a culture of continuous improvement across a workforce of 200+ employees engaged in industrial and heavy equipment manufacturing.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, people-first leader with deep manufacturing operations experience who can simultaneously drive lean transformation, uphold an unwavering commitment to safety and regulatory compliance, and build the high-performing team needed to meet ACS’s growth objectives.
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
- Oversee daily operations across all plant departments, ensuring alignment with production schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols
- Analyze production orders and shipping schedules to determine material, labor, and equipment needs. Allocate resources effectively to meet deadlines and optimize throughput
- Monitor product quality through inspections and testing. Address and resolve production discrepancies, non-conformities, and process inefficiencies
- Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to department supervisors. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Enforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA, local, state, and federal regulations. Promote a proactive safety culture through training and risk mitigation.
- Identify and implement lean manufacturing practices, workflow enhancements, and cost-saving initiatives to improve productivity and reduce waste
- Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure timely availability of materials and supplies. Monitor inventory levels and minimize downtime
- Collaborate with vendors, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues, streamline processes, and support new product introductions
- Maintain accurate records of production metrics, work orders, and operational performance. Provide regular updates to senior leadership
- Address employee concerns, mediate conflicts, and support a positive work environment. Lead by example in ethical conduct and professional behavior
- Will perform duties in a moral and ethical manner

Supervisory Responsibility
- Provides leadership and strategic direction for entire Utah facility across various departments.
- Directly manages department managers and other departmental staff, ensuring alignment with company objectives and quality standards.
- Responsible for workforce planning, recruitment, and onboarding of plant personnel.
- Oversees performance management processes, including goal setting, coaching, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Promotes a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth within the department.
Minimum Requirements/Experience:
- 7+ years of progressive manufacturing operations experience, with at least 4 years in a senior plant leadership role (Plant Manager, Operations Manager, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience in industrial or heavy equipment manufacturing (fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, electrical or similar processes).
- Proven track record leading lean / continuous improvement transformations at a site level with measurable results.
- Strong safety leadership record; working knowledge of OSHA regulations, EHS management systems, and incident investigation methodologies.
- Experience owning a facility P&L and managing multi-million-dollar operating budgets.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams of 150+ employees across multiple functional departments.
- Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills (A3, 8D, root-cause analysis).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence across all organizational levels.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with fabricated enclosures, acoustic products, industrial equipment, or generation packaging
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, or IATF 16949 quality management systems.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (Epicor, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and MES platforms.
- Experience in a union or labor-agreement manufacturing environment.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or related field.
