Work Environment: Fully On-Site

Shift: First Shift (6:00 AM – 4:00 PM, flexible)

Work Hours: 40–60 hours per week

Salary: $125,000–$135,000 annually


Job Summary

The Plant Maintenance Manager will lead the Engineering & Maintenance function at a manufacturing facility in Farwell, Michigan. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing maintenance, engineering, and facility operations to ensure maximum equipment uptime, production efficiency, and safety. The position requires a hands-on leader who can balance strategic oversight with plant-floor involvement and collaboration with cross-functional leadership.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Engineering & Maintenance team to achieve machine availability, quality, and production KPIs.
  • Provide hands-on leadership and intervention during downtime and critical equipment failures.
  • Plan and schedule corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Manage department staffing, workload distribution, and technician scheduling across shifts as needed.
  • Partner with plant leadership to resolve operational issues and implement long-term solutions.
  • Oversee installation of new equipment and execution of plant and equipment upgrades.
  • Manage internal and external resources, contractors, and vendors.
  • Control and manage engineering, facility, and maintenance budgets and expenses.
  • Ensure safe, compliant, and reliable plant operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred (engineering or technical discipline).
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing maintenance leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment and systems, including:
  • Hydraulics and pumps
  • Fluid processing systems
  • Electrical controls and troubleshooting
  • 480 VAC motors and power distribution
  • Robotics and automated equipment
  • Ability to directly troubleshoot equipment issues on the plant floor.
  • Solid understanding of pressure, flow, voltage, and amperage concepts.
  • Experience managing maintenance teams and departmental administration.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and reliability-based maintenance methods.
  • Experience with TPM and plant-floor operations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).


Preferred Qualifications

  • PLC ladder logic familiarity (Rockwell RSLogix, Siemens Step 7 / TIA Portal).
  • CAD experience (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA).
  • Automotive manufacturing experience.
  • Seat foam manufacturing experience.
