Plant Engineer
OverviewThe Plant Engineer works closely with the Vice President of Engineering and the Plant Manager to provide technical leadership and support for the development, design, and execution of capital, expense, and maintenance projects. This role ensures projects are completed safely, profitably, on time, and with operational efficiency, while supporting continuous improvement and plant reliability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, design, and support capital and expense projects, including cost estimation, financial justification, and preparation of business cases in accordance with established process design standards.
- Plan, schedule, and execute inspections of plant equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
- Collaborate closely with plant production and maintenance teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.
- Support facility maintenance efforts, including preventive maintenance planning and infrastructure reliability.
- Maintain and improve work procedures and processes that align with company standards, departmental procedures, and strategic objectives.
- Provide engineering support related to manufacturing systems, plant utilities, and building products manufacturing processes.
- Utilize CAD tools to develop layouts, equipment modifications, and facility improvements.
- Support PLC and controls troubleshooting and improvement efforts as needed.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental policies by actively promoting a culture of safety and modeling safe work behaviors in all plant environments.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related discipline preferred).
- Experience in Plant Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of facility maintenance, preventive maintenance, and plant equipment systems.
- Hands-on experience with PLC systems, controls, and industrial automation.
- Proficiency with CAD software for engineering drawings and layouts.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience in building products manufacturing or a similar heavy manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

This is a Permanent position based out of Williamsport, MD.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
