General Statement:

Advanced Physical Therapy is expanding! We are excited to announce anopening for a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our new 360clinic at 7307 CreekBluff Dr, Austin TX, with occasional coverage or support at other Austin-area clinics as needed. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to make a meaningful impact on patient care while practicing at the full extent of the PTA scope of practice within a supportive environment.


The successful candidate will have experience independently treating patients with chronic pain conditions (back/neck pain, fibromyalgia, multiple joint pain) with a treatment focus on manual therapy, functional rehabilitation, and pain management techniques under the direction of the Physical Therapist and following the plan of care. The clinic also receives therapy referrals for postoperative therapy, orthopedic/sports med conditions, neurological conditions and more. The physical therapist assistant will work closely with all members of the physical therapy department, Advanced Pain Care providers, and office support staff.

The ability to work independently within the PTA scope of practice while effectively managing assigned patient caseload under PT direction is fundamental. The physical therapist assistant must also have strong communication skills to educate and motivate patients as well as to communicate regularly with the supervising physical therapist and off-site Director of Therapy regarding patient care and clinic operations.


Compassionate care and the flexibility to adjust treatment based on how the patient feels are essential to this job, ensuring that each individual receives personalized and empathetic support for their unique needs.


Therapy sessions are based on a 1-on-1 patient-focused approach, with one-hour long appointments, typically 8 patients/day volume. No weekends are required.

Job Purpose: The Physical Therapist Assistant will work closely with the Physical Therapist to provide rehabilitative care to patients.


DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

Primary and essential job duties are as follows:

  • Promotes and maintains health by providing physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist.
  • Contributes to a physical therapist’s effectiveness by identifying patient care issues.
  • Administers treatment programs for patients.
  • Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
  • Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises and instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities.
  • Helps patients in using supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
  • Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens and promoting wellness and health maintenance.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, and adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Maintains production objectives by noting current treatment trends and monitoring actual physical therapy services rendered to production objectives.
  • Maintains legal and accreditation compliance by adhering to policy positions concerning federal, state, and local regulations and JACHO standards.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading periodicals, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhances physical therapy reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

SUPERVISION Reports to the Director of Physical Therapy

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduated from an Accredited PTA program with a Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant

License: Must posses a valid Physical Therapist Assistant License in the State of Texas

Experience: 2 years preferred, new grads considered


WORKING CONDITIONS

Environmental Conditions: Medical Office environment

Physical Conditions:

· Must be able to work as scheduled – typically from 8:00 – 5:00 M-F

· Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time

· Must be able to bend, stoop and stretch

· Must be able to lift and move boxes and other items weighing up to 30 pounds.

· Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment, etc.

Salary Description

$60,000 starting salary
