Work Schedule
- Monday–Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Thursday: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Position Overview
The Staff Physical Therapist plays a vital role in helping patients restore function, reduce pain, and improve overall quality of life. This position is responsible for performing comprehensive evaluations, creating individualized treatment plans, delivering evidence-based therapy interventions, and guiding patients through recovery—from initial assessment through discharge and education.
You’ll work with a diverse patient population across the lifespan while collaborating closely with physicians, interdisciplinary care teams, and physical therapist assistants to deliver exceptional outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform initial and ongoing physical therapy assessments and develop customized plans of care aligned with physician referrals and patient goals
- Provide hands-on treatment and therapeutic modalities to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans based on response and changes in condition
- Supervise and collaborate with Physical Therapist Assistants, ensuring continuity and quality of care
- Communicate patient status and progress with referring physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
- Participate in clinical education by serving as a clinical instructor for physical therapy students, residents, and fellows as applicable
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with departmental standards
- Complete charge capture and statistical data accurately to reflect services provided
- Deliver verbal and written home exercise programs and patient/family education
- Rotate through treatment areas as needed to support organizational and patient care needs
- Actively participate in staff meetings, in-services, and professional development opportunities
- Maintain an active professional license and meet all continuing education requirements

Education & Knowledge Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of human growth and development across the lifespan
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret medical records
- Excellent planning, organization, problem-solving, and follow-up skills
- Ability to think logically and apply strategic reasoning to varied clinical situations
- Proven stress tolerance and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to identify referral growth opportunities
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, coworkers, leadership, and corporate management
- Commitment to quality customer service and patient-centered care
- Participation in healthcare professional organizations is preferred
- May work in areas where medications are stored; no direct contact with medications permitted
Licensure, Certifications & Clearances
- Active Physical Therapist (PT) license in the practicing state
- CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per AHA standards (didactic and skills component required within 30 days of hire)
- Pennsylvania Clearances (with required renewals):
- Act 33 (Child Abuse)
- Act 34 (Criminal History)
- Act 73 FBI Clearance
