Job Title: Phlebotomist

Job Description

Exhibit proficiency in blood collection by venipuncture and capillary technique from patients of all age groups, including pediatric blood collections and difficult draws in medical office buildings. Have a comprehensive understanding of compliance and safety, and effectively communicate their importance to other employees. Provide orientation and training for patient services.

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood collection using venipuncture and capillary techniques.
  • Conduct pediatric blood collections and handle difficult draws.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and communicate the importance of these practices.
  • Provide training and orientation for new patient service employees.

Essential Skills

  • High School Diploma
  • CPT 1 License
  • 1 year of phlebotomy experience in a hospital setting, including pediatrics, ICU, and high volume areas
  • Open to being called and working the same day
  • Open to working 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in inpatient specimen processing
  • Flexibility to work on-call and per diem shifts
  • Willingness to train on 1st shift, Monday-Friday for the first few weeks

Work Environment

This is an on-call lab phlebotomist position, requiring flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends. The role involves being available for same-day call-outs, with shifts potentially being scheduled or called in by supervisors. Training will occur on 1st shift at a single location before transitioning to on-call status. Dress code requires wearing scrubs, and shifts can be picked up at multiple locations to increase hours.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Riverside, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
