Inpatient Pharmacy Technician (Contract)

Location: Seattle, WA (Two-site coverage)

Pay: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour (DOE)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, Day Shift

Duration: 16-Week Contract

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Inpatient Pharmacy Technician for a 16-week contract assignment supporting two premier healthcare locations in the Seattle area. This role is vital to our distribution functions within our specialty, oncology infusion, and urgent care settings. If you are a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in sterile compounding and automated dispensing, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will pivot from traditional retail tasks to high-acuity inpatient support, including:

  • Sterile Compounding: Prepare and compound complex specialty and oncology infusion medications following strict USP 797 and USP 800 guidelines.

  • Inventory Management: Manage and restock Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets across the hospital, including the Advanced-Urgent Care unit and Ambulatory Surgery Center.

  • Epic Workflow: Utilize Epic (Willow) to monitor compounding queues, track medication delivery, and document batching.

  • Distribution Support: Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of medications to various departments.

  • Quality Control: Maintain cleanroom environments, perform daily/weekly logs, and ensure all equipment is sterilized and calibrated.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacists to ensure the "triple check" process is seamless before final product verification.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hospital inpatient experience.

  • Licensure: Active Washington State Pharmacy Technician License in good standing.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Pyxis and Epic electronic health records.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of USP 797 and USP 800 standards for hazardous and non-hazardous drug compounding.

Desired Skills
  • Prior experience in Hospital Inpatientsettings.

  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with the Ambulatory Surgery Center and Urgent Care teams.

  • Ability to work independently across two different site locations as needed.
