Minimum Requirements:
- Active California pharmacist license required.
- Minimum 3 years hospital pharmacist experience required.
- BLS (AHA) certification required.
- Experience with antibiotic stewardship programs (vancomycin and aminoglycoside dosing), insulin and therapeutic drug monitoring required.
- Experience with Cerner or other CPOE/EHR systems required.
- Experience with sterile compounding and IV compounding on-site required. IV Compounding certification preferred.
- Experience with automated dispensing systems such as Omnicell or similar required.
- Experience with medidose unit packaging, Kit Check, and control check required.
- Experience covering multiple inpatient areas required, including ER, ICU, MedSurg, Telemetry, PACU, ORs, Mother/Baby, and NICU.
- Residency training and/or BPS certification (BCPS, BCIDP, BCCCP, BSCSP) or ASHP micro-certifications or SIDP or other infectious diseases certification preferred.
- Ability to perform pharmacy operations and regulatory tasks, provide drug information to medical staff, and assist staff during emergencies required.
Assignment Details
- Facility type: Hospital.
- Primary specialty: Pharmacist.
- Shift: Nights.
- Shift hours: 2000-0600 (8:00 PM – 6:00 AM). Note: Shift notes also list 8:00 PM–6:30 AM; confirm start/end at onboarding.
- Schedule pattern: 4x10 (four 10-hour nights per week) with typical rotations such as 8 on/6 off or adjusted schedules; no self-scheduling.
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend.
- Orientation: 12 hours department-specific orientation required.
- Charting system: Cerner.
- Medication systems: Omnicell and CSM vault, pneumatic tube system, on-site IV compounding, medidose packaging, Kit Check.
- Pharmacy staffing: Pharmacy manager/supervisor present. Pharmacy technicians support role; typical RPh to technician ratio 1:2 and strictly enforced.
- Floating: Coverage across both campuses and multiple areas including inpatient, ER, ICU, MedSurg, Telemetry, PACU, ORs, Mother/Baby, and NICU.

Additional Information
- Assignment duration: 13 weeks.
- Guaranteed hours: 40 hours per week.
- Cancellation policy: Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts for a 13-week assignment; hospital may pay full hours for a canceled shift in lieu of cancellation.
- Dress code: Business casual or clean scrubs; no open-toed shoes/Crocs; visible facial and excessive ear piercings must be covered or removed; no uncovered visible face, neck, arm, hand, or body tattoos.
- On-call: No on-call requirement.
- Holiday requirement: Not required unless scheduled in rotation.
