Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pharmacist to join our team. This position involves reviewing prescriptions, compounding medications, and providing guidance on medication therapy. The role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency in the intake and fulfillment of prescription orders, as well as supporting nursing facility staff with medication and health-related counseling.

Responsibilities

• Review prescriptions issued by physicians or other authorized prescribers to ensure accuracy and determine necessary formulas and ingredients.
• Compound both sterile and non-sterile medications using standard formulas and processes, such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
• Direct other pharmacy employees in tasks related to mixing, packaging, labeling, and modifying prescription orders.
• Ensure accuracy in the intake of prescription orders and efficient fulfillment of these orders.
• Dispense medications and counsel nursing facility staff on the use of prescription and over-the-counter medications.
• Advise physicians on medication therapy and counsel nursing facility staff on general health topics such as diet, exercise, and stress management.
• Provide information on healthcare products, including durable medical equipment and home healthcare supplies.

Essential Skills

• PharmD or B.Pharm with active MN Pharmacist License
• 2+yrs of retail or long-term care experience (preferred, not required)

Work Environment

The role involves rotating shifts from Monday to Friday, with a schedule that includes shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM, and 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM. Additionally, you will work one out of every five weekends, either from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM or from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM on both Saturday and Sunday.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eden Prairie, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62.00 - $65.00/hr.
