OVERVIEW:
Our client, a Global Fortune 50 organization and one of world’s largest distributors of Health care systems, medical supplies & Pharmaceutical products, seeks an accomplished Pharmacist.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- This will be an onsite role.
- Location: 11800 Weston Parkway, Cary, NC 27513 (Onsite for up to 6 months, then potential hybrid based on performance metrics)
- Duration: 3 months assignment with possible extension
- Training Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST
- Post-Training Schedule: Monday – Friday with a mix of 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST and 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM EST shifts
- Minimum of three late shifts (11:00 AM – 8:00 PM EST) per week
- 40 hours per week
Must-Have Requirements:
- Active Pharmacist license in North Carolina in good standing
- Minimum 2–3 years of direct patient counseling experience
- Must live within one hour driving distance of 11800 Weston Parkway, Cary, NC 27513
- Comfortable counseling patients and being on the phone for 7–8 hours daily
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong customer service skills
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct comprehensive clinical reviews of pharmacotherapy for patients
- Counsel patients on new drug therapies and treatment plans
- Perform drug utilization reviews, interaction screening, and side effect profiling
- Document pharmacotherapy reviews and patient progress accurately
- Coordinate patient care with clinicians and healthcare providers
- Support patients and caregivers with subcutaneous therapy teaching
- Process and verify prescriptions accurately and efficiently
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Perform quality assurance checks on prescription products
- Assist pharmacy technicians with pharmacy claims adjudication
- Monitor hazardous waste material management within the pharmacy
- Oversee aseptic techniques and pharmacy technician activities
- Participate in adverse event and product quality complaint reporting
- Provide on-call pharmacist coverage as needed
- Support implementation of clinical management models and specialty therapies
- Deliver exceptional customer service and relationship management with patients and clinicians
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy
- 3–5 years of post-graduate pharmacy operations and patient care experience
- Current unrestricted Pharmacist license in good standing
- Licensed in North Carolina, Texas, or Kentucky to practice pharmacy
- Ability to obtain additional state licensure as needed
- Strong working knowledge of pharmacy operations and clinical oversight
- Working knowledge of sterile technique and quality control practices
- Proficiency with computers and word processing applications
- Meets or exceeds current continuing education requirements pursuant to Board of Pharmacy laws
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced specialty pharmacy environment
- Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
- Ability to provide outstanding patient-centered care
- BCOP certification or willingness to become BCOP certified when eligible
- Specialty pharmacy experience preferred
- Experience supporting oncology or complex therapy patients preferred
- Experience working with REMS programs and specialty medications preferred
