Job DetailsJob Duties / Job Requirements
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Run weekly and bi-weekly payroll across a mixed workforce, including union and non-union employees
- Ensure accurate pay calculations, including overtime, deductions, garnishments, and fringe allocations
- Maintain compliant payroll records aligned with federal, state, and contract-specific requirements
- Interpret and apply prevailing wage laws across multiple jurisdictions
- Prepare, review, and submit certified payroll reporting tied to government-funded work
- Validate worker classifications and ensure proper benefit allocations
- Manage union-related payroll components, including dues, benefit contributions, and reporting
- Maintain current rate tables and ensure timely submissions to union trust funds
- Handle payroll tax filings, including quarterly and year-end reporting
- Reconcile discrepancies, respond to notices, and support audit activity
- Partner with accounting on general ledger alignment and reporting accuracy
- Identify inefficiencies in current processes and recommend improvements
- Maintain strict confidentiality across all payroll and employee data
What You Bring
- 3+ years of hands-on payroll experience in a complex environment
- Direct exposure to prevailing wage and certified payroll requirements
- Experience with union payroll structures and reporting
- Strong understanding of payroll tax compliance and filings
- Comfort working across multiple deadlines without sacrificing accuracy
- High attention to detail with the ability to troubleshoot discrepancies independently
- Proficiency with payroll systems and Excel
