What We Do



The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) is the nation's oldest program to help low-income, unemployed individuals 55+ receive job training and a path to employment. SCSEP is administered by the US Department of Labor. VANTAGE Aging operates SCSEP in 31 counties across Indiana and 38 counties in Ohio.



Who We’re Looking For



We are seeking a detail-oriented payroll professional to execute the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) payroll operations. As a key member of the VANTAGE Aging team, you will support over 500 participants throughout Ohio and Indiana. The successful candidate will demonstrate confidence in executing high-volume payroll tasks with precision and organization. You should be technologically savvy, possessing the skills to navigate modern computers and specialized payroll software efficiently.


Key Responsibilities:


Streamline Core Operations

  • Conduct bi-weekly payroll for over 500 program participants across Ohio and Indiana.
  • Audit and maintain digital payroll files, ensuring all database scans and documentation are complete and compliant.
  • Monitor bi-weekly payroll changes to guarantee all transmittals are processed accurately within strict deadlines.

Enhance Communication and Advocacy

Act as a primary liaison for staff, host agency supervisors, and participants to resolve payroll inquiries via phone, email, and in-person meetings.

  • Support program participants directly by guiding them through the completion of timesheets to ensure they are paid correctly and on time.
  • Respond to external verification requests and prepare specialized payroll reports as required by leadership.

Focus on Compliance and Audit Readiness

  • Facilitate internal and external audits by organizing data and managing specific documentation requests.
  • Apply basic accounting principles to ensure all financial tracking and general clerical tasks align with organizational standards

Requirements

Minimum of two years in payroll. High school diploma required, associate degree in accounting or a related field preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 is required. Experience with Paylocity and CRM systems is preferred. Demonstrated understanding of basic accounting principles. Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively resolve payroll inquiries with staff, supervisors, and participants.
