Payroll Specialist

Base Salary: $80,000 - $90,000
Position Summary
Payroll Specialist will be responsible for supporting all payroll functions and managing timekeeping systems while ensuring all payroll data is accurate and compliant. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail and the ability to independently manage payroll audits regularly while communicating effectively with team members and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for bi-weekly for both salaried and hourly employees using Dayforce.
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll by reviewing accuracy of time and attendance, new hire onboarding wages, and making adjustments as needed.
- Conduct regular audits of payroll and timekeeping data to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Review, correct, and maintain timekeeping records, including entering time off and resolving discrepancies
- Guide employees on submitting Change Requests and Time Off requests within the system
- Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related questions from employees and managers for discrepancies and final pays.
- Communicate directly with Dayforce support to troubleshoot and resolve system or payroll issues
- Assist in audits, reconciliations, general ledger and journal entries in collaboration with accounting
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and internal policies
- CalSavers plan administration and support benefits deductions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with HR and accounting as needed
- Role may include other relevant duties and projects as needed
- High level of confidentiality REQUIRED
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of payroll experience, multi-state preferred
- Experience with Dayforce is preferred but not required
- Strong understanding of payroll compliance, wage and hour laws, and tax regulations
- Experience auditing payroll and timekeeping data with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to troubleshoot payroll issues and manage corrections independently
- Experience communicating with state tax agencies and handling payroll-related notices
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively support employees, leadership, and accounting teams
- High level of organization, discretion, and attention to detail
