Job Title: Payroll Specialist (Audit Focus)

Location: Brooklyn, NY (Onsite)

Duration: 06/08/2026 – 09/05/2026

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Hours: 37.5/week


🎯 Role Summary

A hospital-based Payroll Specialist responsible for payroll processing, auditing, and compliance. This role supports accurate payroll operations while ensuring adherence to internal policies and government regulations.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

  • Audit financial and operational processes (billing, AR/AP, payroll, and clinical areas)
  • Review and manage KRONOS/UKG timecards with department timekeepers
  • Process biweekly payroll accurately and in compliance with regulations
  • Reconcile payroll reports and perform post-payroll audits
  • Handle employee deductions, tax forms, garnishments, and direct deposits
  • Collaborate with HR to maintain payroll systems and employee data
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues
  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies and procedures

🧩 Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years of audit experience
  • Hands-on experience with UKG (Kronos) payroll systems (MANDATORY)
  • Strong understanding of payroll processing and compliance
  • Ability to handle payroll-related queries and discrepancies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Infor/Lawson or similar payroll systems
  • Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements (union environments)
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field
