Patient Care Novice

Nurses develop their best skills through a combination of education and real-life experience. Our Patient Care Novices work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse to assist in providing high quality patient care at Franciscan Health. This is an excellent opportunity to learn hands-on care and gain experience recognizing signs and symptoms and how to respond.

• 34 bed post-surgical unit- general surgery post op- bariatric, GI, colon, rectal, medical overflow
• Patient Population ages 18-65

QUALIFICATIONS

• A team-oriented Nursing Student willing to be flexible and dynamic in meeting
• patient care needs.
• -Must be enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing program

fully accredited by either the CCNE (Commission of Collegiate Nursing

• Education) or NLNAC (National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission).
• Must have successfully completed year one Nursing Fundamentals at their approved school of nursing to qualify for PCN-1
• Basic Life Support (BLS)-American Heart Association required
