Pathologist

Nicklas Laboratory Staffing
Kalamazoo County, MI

Our client is seeking a skilled, mission-driven Pathologist to join their team in both anatomic and clinical pathology. In this role, you will serve as a trusted diagnostic expert, a physician consultant to clinical teams, and a laboratory leader — directly impacting patient outcomes across the community.

This is a high-impact, full-scope position for a pathologist who thrives in a collaborative environment and takes ownership across diagnostic, administrative, and quality functions.

You will step into a fully staffed, high-functioning department. This is not a one- or two-person shop — the organization employs a robust team of pathologists, pathologists’ assistants, and histotechnicians, giving you genuine peer collaboration, shared coverage, and the infrastructure to practice at the top of your license without being stretched thin.

A RARE OPPORTUNITY

Pathologists who join this organization don't leave. With an average tenure exceeding 20 years, this is demonstrably a place where physicians build careers, not just fill a position. The reasons are straightforward:

  • Independent nonprofit laboratory — mission-driven, community-rooted, patient-first; no private equity pressure, no quarterly earnings agenda
  • 20+ year average pathologist tenure — the clearest signal we can offer that this is a place physicians choose to build a career, not just pass through
  • Diversified, financially stable organization — Breadth across laboratory services provides institutional resilience most single-specialty labs cannot match
  • Fully paid healthcare — 100% employer-paid health plan with physician choice of coverage; no premium cost-sharing
  • Retirement depth — company-contributed 403(b) and 457 plans, giving you both tax-deferred growth and deferred compensation flexibility

This is a confidential search. If you are a board-eligible or board-certified pathologist looking for a long-term home — not just a next step — we want to hear from you. Apply or send us a message and we will walk you through the details.
