THIS IS A PART-TIME ROLE. THE ROLE WILL REQUIRE 20-25 HOURS PER WEEK OF WORK. OverviewWe are seeking a Microsoft 365 Architect to provide technical leadership and architectural direction for our upcoming Microsoft 365 transformation. This role will work in close partnership with a Technical Project Manager and shared stakeholders to define, design, and guide execution of the platform strategy.The project will focus on migrating from internal file shares to OneDrive, transitioning to SharePoint Online, and re-evaluating the organization’s use of Microsoft Teams and broader Microsoft 365 governance and policies.This role owns the technical vision, design decisions, and architectural integrity of the solution.Experience & Background:- 10+ years of experience designing and leading Microsoft-based enterprise solutions- Deep hands-on expertise across Microsoft 365 workloads- Proven experience architecting large-scale cloud collaboration and content platforms- Demonstrated success guiding enterprise migrations and platform modernizationKey Responsibilities:- Define the Microsoft 365 target architecture and design principles- Lead architectural decisions for OneDrive, SharePoint Online, Teams, and related services- Design migration approaches from on-premises file shares to cloud platforms- Establish security, compliance, governance, and policy frameworks- Advise on identity, access, data protection, retention, and compliance strategies- Partner with the Technical Project Manager to align technical design with delivery plans- Provide architectural guidance throughout implementation and rollout- Ensure solutions align with Microsoft best practices and organizational standardsEssential Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Expertise:- Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365, including OneDrive, SharePoint Online, and Teams- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 security, compliance, and governance- Experience with enterprise-scale content and collaboration migrationsStrategic & Architectural Thinking:- Ability to evaluate tradeoffs and make sound design decisions- Strong understanding of adoption strategies and platform lifecycle management- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detailCollaboration & Influence:- Excellent communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders- Ability to influence architectural alignment across teams- Comfortable operating as a technical authority without direct ownership of deliveryTiming & Commitment:- 8–12 week initiation phase focused on architecture, design decisions, and roadmap definition- Implementation phase expected to run through most of the year- Average expected commitment: 20-25 hours per weekCOMPETENCIESBuild RelationshipsEstablish rapport quickly; put others at ease; take the social initiative with unfamiliar people; develop relationships with people and functions throughout as well as outside the organization; share information with others outside of immediate area.Work EfficientlyReduce unnecessary steps; look for ways to improve processes; keep workplace organized; prioritize your objectives; maximize the productivity of others; reduce redundancies and costs when possible; use a systematic, structured work approach.Client ServiceDemonstrate a commitment to high standards; provide excellent service to both internal and external clients; consistently produce high quality results; complete work in a timely fashion; take pride in work; rigorously check own and others' work for errors; utilize technology to provide excellent client service.Apply KnowledgeLeverage specific expertise to solve practical problems; share technical expertise with coworkers; apply technical knowledge to novel situations; use knowledge of the organization to get work done in the quickest and most high-quality manner possible.PersevereDemonstrate tenacity when faced with tough challenges; find alternate paths to reach goals; persist in the face of adversity; use your knowledge of the organization to accomplish difficult goals.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.
