Instruct courses in the Certified Medical Assistant Program. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining office hours, participating in professional development, advising students, participating in college committees, facilitating community awareness of the program, and working across departments to develop student communication, computation and critical thinking skills. Faculty are expected to accept courses as assigned which could include non-traditional venues, such as evening, weekend, dual credit, and/or online courses, and must be able to travel to clinical facilities and be flexible to teach as needed. This position reports to the Dean of Health Professions

NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

Physical effort-restricted: Sustained posture or intense attentiveness for prolonged periods. Light lifting (less than 30 lbs.), some walking, pushing, and pulling regularly. Work environment-Minimal hazard/exposure: Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.


BENEFITS:

Part-Time Retirement. Participation in Medicare Part A but not Social Security (FICA).



MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education:credentialed Medical Assistant; LVN, or RN

Experience: Three years of recent work experience in a patient care setting

Special Requirement:unencumbered license to practice in the State of Texas


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:Associate's Degree in Medical Assistant, Nursing, or Allied Health Discipline; or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Allied Health, Education, or related field

Experience: Teaching experience in allied health or nursing education
