Part-Time Accounting Specialist

Location: Onsite

Schedule: Part-Time (approximately 20-30 hours per week)


LHH is seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day accounting operations for our client in Charlotte, NC. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys hands-on work and is looking for a flexible schedule while contributing to a collaborative team environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice entry, payments, and application of cash
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records
  • Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and general ledger maintenance
  • Maintain organized and accurate accounting documentation and files
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries related to accounting matters in a professional manner
  • Assist with special projects and additional accounting duties as needed


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience (AP, AR, or general accounting)
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Proficiency with Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar preferred)
  • Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines
  • Strong organizational and communication skills


Preferred (but not required)

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Experience supporting a small or mid-sized organization
  • Prior part-time or contract accounting experience
